I'm surprised they had to extract half your teeth

I had a pain with only 1 tooth, but damn, 3? and in such a socially sensitive area?

Anyways, 6 months from now, you will have made huge progress on those front ones I'm betting :D

Thanks guys :D

It really is great to see movement. When you look everyday, you don't really notice anything different, its only when you do before and after pics that things really show up. That was the case here. I was starting to think that the brace wasn't working!

Something else kind of exciting has happened too. My upper-left wisdom tooth which was formerly impacted has grown out through the gum line! :) It still has some movement to go before its level with the other teeth, but its no longer impacted!

real2, I was pretty unhappy about having extractions, but there really wasn't enough room for my teeth. They could have made them all line up, but it would have meant pushing them quite far forward, and in some cases out of the jawbone. As anoying as it is, thisis probably the best way.

What? Already?

Yes it has indeed been two months! In fact, the 2 month braceaversary went by without me noticing!

I've just returned from my first adjustment, and I have now got my lower arch braced too, as well as a thicker wire up top :D

Would you like some pics? Of course you would :P

First things first, the obligatory side-by-side..

That wire really has smoothed out a lot! :D

New bottom brace:

Mr twisty :(

Yep, Mr Twisty, is rotated too far to be properly joined to the wire, so he's had to settle for a small piece of powerchain to de-twist him. (Its clear, and doesn't show up too well in the photo, but trust me, its there :))

There is certainly a LOT more pressure on my teeth with the new wire up top and new brace down below. Hopefully that will mean things start moving faster :D

Wow!!! That tooth has come down loads in 2 months!!!! I have been braced for nearly 2wks now and my main problem is my incisors at the top and I have noticed them moving and just hope I see as much change as you have had in 2mths!!!

Hope you arent in too much pain after your adjustment and that bracket on Mr Twisty looks like it could dig in so the wax may come in handy!!

Wow, have your uppers ever straightened out! And I'm sure in no time Mr. Twisty will get to join the party. I hear PC's work wonders.

WOW!!!!!!!!!

That's an incredible change in 2 months! Have you really only just had your first adjustment? It's amazing that the first wire created so much movement. Lets hope mine does the same - I have been desperately watching for movement, and I think that my canine is slowly being pulled back. The big achievement for me will be when my right lateral incisor has enough room to come out of hiding, and then my central incisor will actually be able to sit next to it's neighbour :D

Looking forward to seeing more pics as your lowers start to move.

Oh wow!! The change in your upper teeth is just remarkable! You must be very happy with the results so far. It's worth the discomfort, isn't it?

Way to go Rob!

Thanks guys! :D

metalmummy to be honest, the brackets on Mr Twisty are not causing any trouble right now, but there is a hook on the bottom left molar, and thats had to be buried in wax...

jenny101101, thanks :) Hopefully you're right, and the powerchain will work fast.

bracedagain, I am sore, but not too sore, and that will die down soon too, I hope :)

sksk11, yes, this was my first adjustment 9 weeks from getting braced. I was pretty surprised that such a thin wire could do so much too, and now I have much thicker wires so I'm hoping for lots more movement :) If you look for changes every day, you won't notice much, but if you take a picture once a week, things really start to show up :)

catfish, Early this morning, I was starting to question whether its worth it due to the pain I was in, but its settling, and I'm looking forward to more movement :)

finally *melissa*, thanks :D You're right, time is moving pretty quick. Seems like I only got braced up a week or so ago.

Now that there has been significant movement on my top teeth, I'm beginning to wonder whether the extractions were realy necessary. The extraction gaps look the same size as they were in the beginning, and my teeth are lined up enough for me to think that they would have had enough room! I do have a bigger overjet now though, which I guess will be reduced when we start working on closing the gaps.

I think my bite is changing too. It doesn't seem to fit like it did a few days ago. I guess things get worse before they get better.

In other news, I had a quick go on my trumpet again, and now that I'm braced on the bottom too, it does seem like its going to be possible to play again, with a little effort. :D

Sorry, I'm a little late here...

Wow! Looks like you've had some great results in two months. Congrats. :)

Isn't it fascinating how your bite keeps changing?
