Hi Vonster!

I have damons and had the same adjustment on Monday this week that you did! I got the square wires and the pain :-)! Oh and short powerchains.

I remember the ortho assistant telling me that the square wires would be significant, the ortho telling me that they wouldn't be :-).

I will also be having my panoramic in June! I am hoping after that I will have about another 6 -8 months (only)!!!

Your teeth look great. I should really post some pics.

Thanks Leslie022!

Sounds like you and I are on the same track jcdamon3! You really should post pics...I'd love to see them! Is that what these horizontal elastics are? Powerchains? I wasn't sure 'cause they look different on traditional braces, but as far as I can tell, they are serving the same purpose. Now you really gotta post pics so I can figure out if I have the same thing as you...

I took another look at your picture, and no, it looks like you have regular elastics. I don't know if I will be getting those later on or not. Probably I will to correct bite problems. The powerchains are totally invisible because they are clear and they go right along the archwire. You would not see them in a picture unfortunately because they are so tiny. They are like alot like powerchains you see on the stories here except clear and much smaller.

Great progress!!!!!

Vonster, can relate to you and dcd3 about the rectangular wire and pain. When I got my 1st one (yes, you may get another one) the first morning it took me 2 hours to recover from brushing my teeth.

It's a GOOD SIGN when they put those wires on, means you're closer to finishing wires (which are ALSO PAINFUL) but sound so beautiful :-*

Thanks for the clarification, jcdamon3! Now I'm wondering what I have in my mouth! The horizontal elastics aren't like the diagonal ones...they are a single strand through the middle with a little loop at either end. Does anyone know if there is a special name for this particular type of elastic?

You still need to post pics jcdamon3... :P

Jennielee, I can't find pics of your latest configuration...am I not looking in the right place?

Hi Vonster,

I posted a pic in the Metal Mouth Forum on the Post labeled "JCDAMON3". Hopefully I will be brace enough to leave it there until you see it! You can see my powerchains quite clearly in the pic. They are already starting to stain a bit!

I was supposed to have my next adjustment around June 14, but I'm going to be out of town, so they moved it up to June 1. They took panoramics and decided that they won't have to move any brackets (yay!), but they will need to kink the wire to straighten out the top, left, first incisor that got torqued when I went into triangles. My ortho and all the assistants were remarking about how far ahead of schedule I am, and how it won't be long now....wahooooooooo!!!!!!

Apparently, it's time to tackle my midline, so here is a pic of the latest addition to my junk collection. Now on top of my teeth being in jail, my tongue is in solitary confinement!

It aggravated me the first day, but I got used to it quickly...can't make a good "th" sound though...

Next adjustment--July 24.
