DR. J Help mysterious pain In My mouth....!

Hi name is Rodney
I had a palate expander, and top and bottom braces.
I have this mysterious pain coming from the top of my expander and it hurts real bad. I had my expander for about 6 months, top braces for about 2 and bottom braces for 2 days. After i got my bottom braces put on, ive been experiencing this pain on the top of my mouth where the expander was placed. I can't drink no liquid because when i the pain comes back and dosnt stop for about 2 min's, longer depend on how fast you drink the liquid. Im scared i dont know whether its an infection, but i cant drink any liquid and its making me thirsty. Im going for a vist on tuesday to my ortho, i dont know maybe the expander is the problem but this pain is a killer. How can drinking a liquid bring on this painful experience. Please help me

Is it perhaps a tooth that is going bad and now very cold sensitive? I am guessing that the expander is long since finished being activated. MAybe you can goad your ortho into removing the RPE and placing a transpalatal archwire retainer (TPA) instead?
