invisalign rarely works

What I mean is that most mouths are not a good candidate for invisalign. It seems to be more like an aggressive retainer than just braces... of for someone who wore braces and didn't get the exact results.

As for me, my teeth dont "look" crooked, as I did wear braces for 2 years, but the bite problem and crowding, which seems mild enough for invisalign, will not improve much with invisalign.
For me to get what I really want, I must go with braces.

I am getting them in less than 3 weeks, the sapphire, clear braces. Well, the do have a tiny silver band that goes around, but not so much as anyone will notice right away.

I am told it will take less than a year, and is around $3000.00 so, I feel pretty good about it.

I just think all this hype over invisialign is too bad, since most people I talk to say it doesn't work.,

i think lots of people get a result they are happy with following invisalign, but what you say is true. invisalign is not good at correcting bite problems because it treats the upper and lower arch independantly of each other. with traditional braces the arches can interact through elastics, etc.

invisalign is good if you are TRUELY a candidate for it.

I think it just depends on the case. If you don't have any bad bite problems, just a little crookedness, Invisalign and similar systems may work very well. I've known some people who were really happy with their results. But it seems that it is not recommended for more complicated cases. As in all treatments, it all depends on the person's mouth and the orthodontist who is treating them.

I'm getting moulds done for Invisalign at the moment. I've been called back to get the mould for my lower jaw re-done for the second time as there was a "slight flaw". Has this happened to anyone else? I'm a bit worried my orthodontist is slightly incompetent as i don't know the process.

My friend's orthodontist also said that he wouldn't recommend Invisalign and the company is on the verge of bankruptcy

Does anyone have any light to shed on this?

I'd appreciate any replies
