I've had a few adjustments since the last time I posted. I'm basically finnished. I had moulds taken on Monday for my retainer! On December 21st my braces will be removed! I am very excited about all of this.

I asked how often I will have to wear my retainer, and he said he would like me to wear it 24/7. I was a little disappointed because I just want to show off my smile, without metal but its worth it in the long run. Then he said that he can make me a clear retainer to wear during the day an noone will notice I am even wearing a retainer. He said its basically like a tray he would make to whiten teeth with, but it works as a retainer. (I am guessing its sort of like invisilin). Then I can wear the normal retainer at night. So its not that bad at all really. I am so excited...just 11 days left, and counting! :-V

Thanks Joplin! I am getting very excited now...just 2 more sleeps until they are off! I have been slack about getting pictures up here, but hope to by tomorrow, if not I will on Wednesday when I become wireless!!

I had a horrible nightmare last night...
I was at the dentist, ready to get my braces off, when a new dental assistant was there, and she said she was going to remove my braces. I was a little nervous but thought it would be fine. Next thing I know, she is pulling the brackets off with a pair of plyers!! It didn't hurt much but was very uncomfortable, and she left half of them on there!!! Along with the rest of the cement too! Then she proceeds to shape my canine so it would blend in with my other teeth, and does a horrible job of it. When I woke up I had to actually feel my braces to see if they were still there! Phew. I sure hope this is no indication of how my experience will be on Wednesday! I am sure everything will be fine, I just have a wild imagination. Just thought I would share...

Today is my LAST DAY in braces!! Here is a picture in their final moments...ha ha. Sorry about the quality, my camera battery was dying, so this was the only pic I could take.

I am pretty happy with the results, I don't really like that my midline is still off, but its not something that can be fixed with only top braces. Overall, I am very pleased. I don't think I will sleep at all tonight!

Beautiful smile! I love seeing the before and after pictures for others. It keeps me going, as I only got the braces on yesterday and have a ways to go.

Thank you everyone!
I got my braces off this morning. I went in 15 minutes early, I just couldnt wait any longer! It was a pretty quick process, since I only had top braces. My dentist took a tool that looked sort of like plyers and sort of snipped each bracket off. At this point I had no idea what he was doing...I thought he was cutting the wire or something. Then he said, "there we go, they're all off!" I didnt believe him at first, I had to actually touch my teeth to realize they were gone. Then he took off the bands on my two back teeth. That wasn't too bad at all. Next he took a grinder tool and took off the cement. Next he polished my teeth, and woo hoo...my braces are now history! After all that, I tried on my retainer for the first time. I am not sure what kind it is, I will post pics later. When it was all over, he asked me if I wanted my braces as a keepsake...so I took em...just to have. Oh yeah, I have to go back later today, he is making me a different kind of retainer that is transparent and fits over my teeth so its not so noticable. I have to pick it up then. I am so excited. I was brushing my teeth today and giggling, it felt so weird...the same goes for eating! But its a wonderful kind of weird! ha ha
I'll post pics asap.
Happy Holidays everyone!!

Hey Guys, sorry no pics yet, I keep forgetting to take pics when I have a chance. I promise, real soon!

Just a little update on my progress since debanding...
Things haven't been so good. I love the results, but I am having problems with my retainters. I have two. I was told by someone on here they are called essix and hawley. One for daytime use and one for nightime. Daytime is clear and you can't tell I am wearing it. Nighttime has a wire across my front teeth and its a bit hard to talk with. The daytime one is great! The nighttime one was making my front teeth crooked again, so today I got the retainer fixed and it fits much better, but when I put it in tonight, I realized that the wire was bent. I must not have noticed while I was there today, I was in such a hurry to leave. So back to the dentist tomorrow!! :( More details about my retainer problems here.
