Got my spring off last friday because there was finally enough room to attach that tooth.

By the time I got home from my appointment and took this picture, my teeth has moved already. You can imagine the immense pain.

Okay! I am so jealous! I had a spring too and I got it off about two weeks ago. Mine is still somewhat jury rigged. My Ortho told me that the tooth that we are trying to fit in will be 1/4 of the way there next time I see him (in December), 1/2 way there the time after that and so on and so on.

Congratulations!

Nice!

Once you get the springs off, things really seem to get moving.

Except for this one tooth I have... grr...

The gap between my front teeth has finally closed ~whew~

I wonder if the lower gap is really going to close in 8 weeks...I can wriggle that tooth slightly so I dont want it to move too fast but not too slow either, hehe.

encouragement

#7 Post by amychelle »

YOUR progress makes ME excited.

I am in the middle of the same thing except mine is on top (canines.)

Last appointment I had "enough room" but he wanted the gap to be too big :GapToothed: so he left the spring and rigged up the bracket with a wiretie around the spring to get the movement started and hopefully in two weeks I will have the spring off. (I have monthly appointments.)

Hopefully I will have enough time between removal of 4 wisdom teeth and the adjustment a week later for me to have a break from agony for a few days.

yes sir, i remember getting the spring out and hooking up that tooth. It was like an early Christmas present. My tooth has moved like 1/4" in the past month and boy it was sore too. Good progress, aint it fun to see these things going where they are supposed to!

Wow! That is some fantastic movement. And it is great encouragement to me. I just got my spring off a week ago (11/22) and my tooth has moved in quite a bit. I can't wait to see where it is in a couple of weeks.

I just got a spring on today - it was my second adjustment.
So can someone clarify what this spring does?
My bottom teeth look like Aznfayeth's - but what happened between 11/1 where there seems to be no gap between the teeth and 11/4 where there is a gap?

My ortho is pretty pleased with my movement so far - that makes me happy!

the spring pushed the 2 teeth apart to make room for the one in between. The spring created more space than actually needed(not clear in the pic 11/1).
