Funny thing! Anyone else?

#1 Post by touchofhiddencharm »

Is it just me or does someone else who's in elastics do this? Almost every morning when I wake up, I end up yawning with elastics on and one always pops me in the jaw when it breaks. LOL. It only happens when they're kind of weak from wearing them all night but I think it's the funniest thing because I always forget so it scares me every time it happens lol. Please tell me I'm not the only one who's done this? Haha.

Oh yes, I know that feeling well. I have elastics everywhere around the house from them popping off and flying around.

Good. Lol. I didn't realize I had lost so many until I swept my bathroom floor and found them.

I still haven't had a single elastic snap on me in my 10 months of wearing them ::knock on wood:: but I am finding them all over the house anyway

I recently was certified as a scuba diver and those things would snap me whenever I put the regulator in my mouth. They're basically evil.

I have several snap every day. When I yawn, laugh, try to take a bite of something without taking them out, lecture the kids, lol. They are everywhere in this house!

It's weird, but for the last few weeks my elastics break like clockwork at the 2-hour mark. If I notice it's getting close to 2 hours since I changed them, I almost start wincing when I talk because I know they'll snap at any moment. First one will go, then the other will go within a couple of minutes of the first. The only time they last longer is overnight - for some reason they last the whole night (I guess because I hold my jaw really tense and still overnight). So I'm getting really proactive and changing them every two hours, before they snap and hurt me! :)

I've had over 30 snap while eating, some of which couldn't be immediately recovered. Ps they don't dissolve in stomach acid. I know.

The only elastics I've had snap while talking, eating, or yawning are the smallest Chipmunk elastics I have. The Bears and Impalas have never snapped on me.

I have them snap when I least expect it. I also have them EVERYWHERE! They seem to multiply.... well that and my daughter also has elastics, so between the two of us... we have colored circles everywhere
