Hi I've had my clinchecks and consultations.
I have overcrowded teeth on the bottom.
2 main options are either IPR or extraction of 2 bottom teeth. I currently have some sensitivity issues with a few teeth. Due to this I'm unsure which option to choose. I understand its not great to extract 2 healthy teeth however I'm worried about making the sensitivity worse and also if you can gain better results with extraction?
If anybody has any advice or experiences this would be great.
Thankyou very much
Extraction or IPR with Invisalign??

Re: Extraction or IPR with Invisalign??
If you only extract teeth on the bottom, you will have asymmetry in your mouth because the same teeth won't be extracted on top.
If I were you, I'd get more opinions from experienced orthodontists, and look beyond Invisalign as well.

I'm the owner/admin of this site. Had ceramic uppers, metal lowers ~3 years in my early 40's. Now in Hawley retainers at night!
Re: Extraction or IPR with Invisalign??
Forgot to mention I had train track braces when I was 11-12 years old, I'm now 24. I had 2 teeth removed from the top teeth but none from the bottom which is why I'm overcrowded on the bottom.
My bite has never been correct, I don't have any overbite atal, never have done. The Invisalign clincheck shows that I will get an overbite. I think the most successful clincheck is the 1 removing teeth.
Thankyou for your advice

Re: Extraction or IPR with Invisalign??
Knowing you are missing two teeth on the top lends more weight to removing teeth in the lower arch. There are a lot of factors involved including the angulation of your teeth, position of your jaws relative to each other, amount of crowding etc. It really isn't possible or useful for anyone here to provide any advice on which option is better without all of the information.
