Hm. But my surgeon say they will do stitches underneath the nose to prevent it from widen.
He also took measurments on how wide my nose is now, and said that he would make sure it would stay
that way.. but I don't know. it also seems like the nose turns a bit up, but I don't really mind that, it looks nice.
Midnight -you look very nice. But I'm sure it must be strange, I'm afraid I'm going to get very anxious about
seeing myself different, and the strange thing is I'm not afraid of surgery or not being able to eat or
pain etc. just afraid that it won't turn out how I want it to, then I will be devastated.

Re: Recovery
I just wanted to say I just had surgery (on Saturday), everything went fine. I woke up and had only three rubber bands and could open my mouth. But the pain!! The pain was horrible. I had to get morphine injected every 2.nd hour. I didn't bleed anything. I went home the day after with a vicodin prescription. That did not help at all. I've never been in so much pain, I had to get stronger and stronger medication. Today I visited my surgeon and he said that people usually get numbed -they loose their feelings in and around their mouth and jaw for a while and this makes it very little painful. I could feel EVERYTHING the mintue I woke up -I guess its a good thing too, at least I have all nerves intact. But I wish I had known this so I could prepare more for the pain. I also lost my appetite -I'm trying to do these protein shakes and juices, It just makes me sick.

Re: Recovery
I was off work for (gulp) six weeks. No way I could have went back before three. The drooling and drinking and plugged nose were so terrible I just couldn't have. Also, with my jaw banded shut, no one could understand me and again I had to wear towel bibs from the drool. I felt pretty good by 5 weeks but was very swollen. I used the sixth week to get stronger.
