Re: Angel269's Story
Hi Dee
Great to hear about starting treatment next month.
With regards to photos I put mine on Photobucket. To upload them to the site from Photobucket I click on
IMG code and then it lets me know I copied it
Then when adding it to a topic click on "Img" button on here and paste the code in, then it usually works.

Re: Angel269's Story
Hi Angel,
Thanks for your message. Yes, I am hoping that having now made this decision that I will start to settle down a bit and my anxiety will go away. I now will just have to worry about what it's actually going to be like when they put thm on. I am not anticipating any pain, just discomfort. I live with a repetitive stress injury that causes me a lot of chronic pain and he said that any orthodontic pain I might experience will probably be very easy for me to manage if I'm used to dealing with that chronic pain.
Thanks also for the instructions on how to upload the photos. I'm not familiar with Photobucket. Is it a website?

Re: Angel269's Story
So how does it feel? Im guessing you dont have a diastema anymore (from the looks of ur last pic update)
Doesnt it feel weird? For me it did at first. Apparetnly i never realized how much i used to exhale through my mouth at times. Now when i try to do that (because of the lack of space between my teeth) basically the air just fills in my mouth and im like wth -__- its such a weird feelin having to open my mouth to exhale...But im pretty much use to the sight of no diastema.
I look back at my old pics and im like...really that was my teeth?
well stay in touch.

Still there
Shrinking slowly-Am hoping to have a stronger powerchain and archwire next week.
My powerchain has a yellowy tinge and the coating has come off my archwire right at the front *cringe*.
Will upload a new photo next Friday after my adjustment

Re: Angel269's Story
Ok I look forward to the updates.
I wasn't aware powerchains come in different strengths.....
Seams to me when I choose a colour ligs the assistant just pulls out the same colour roll of powerchains.......so I always thought it was just one generic strength.
Oh prob my ortho carries the strongest strength hence my speedy gap closures. Idk.

Re: Angel269's Story
Angel, It doesn't help much but you might try a toothpaste with baking soda it helps scrub some of the stains from ligs/chains.
I'm sure that your gap will be closed in no time

Your progress is amazing, and much faster than mine! I had the same big space! (have to wear my braces for 2 yrs) You shouldn't be impatient about them moving though, the slower they move and the longer you wear your braces the more chance they have to stay where they're put!! And don't forget your retainer
Your smile is beautiful and white and it'll look gorgeous when you've finished!

Re: Angel269's Story
Thanks for your lovely comments.
I think it is quicker because I'm having single arch treatment so no elastics or any of that sort of thing that takes the real time.
Will be having an upper bonded retainer, as well as a removable (Essix).
Well 3 months in and I have my next adjustment on Friday. Looking forward to hopefully having my powerchain across 6 teeth, as opposed to just 4. Can't wait to see my diastema close soon. Miffed that coating has come off my archwire between my two front teeth and desperate for clean ligs/powerchain

Wow! What wonderful progress you've made already. You have a very pretty smile, pearly white and on the move
May I also say how extraordinary your bravery has been and how proud your husband must be of you. Fear and pain are not weaknesses, but over coming them shows great strength.
All the best to you and your family.

I had Inman Aligners on both my top and bottom teeth.

Re: Angel269's Story
When I asked my orthodontist how long my treatment would take and he said two years, I nearly fell off my chair. Then I asked him if I would have to wear elastics as well and he said, yes to that question, too. This coupled with having power chains just fills me with dread. But I've started my official countdown to "bracket day" -- 35 days to go. I hope that as the time passes I will feel more excited about everything. I do know one thing, it will be nice to see this gap in my teeth start to close. I hope it won't take the whole two years to do it, though!

Re: Angel269's Story
I have my 3rd adjustment in about 2 hours time.
I'm really hoping that the powerchain is going to go over 6 teeth as opposed to 4 and this will be the month that my diastema fully closes
Not looking forward to the tension when new ligs/powerchain are on but it means progress!
Will post a post adjustment photo later on

Re: Angel269's Story
3rd Adjustment-Update
I have had my 3rd adjustment now. I still have powerchain over 4 teeth (not 6 !-Like I had hoped for). I don't think it is a stronger wire but the powerchain is stronger and is tooth coloured as opposed to clear this time. John has said that my diastema should close by next appointment with this powerchain
My teeth definitely feel tender with this powerchain
John also mentioned that things are on track and they should be off by Februray
Once my diastema has closed I will have the powerchain across my 6 teeth to close the gaps with the canines.
Here is what you have been waiting for, photo post 3rd adjustment
(sorry the picture is a tad dark)

Just a photo of the start for me........

Drastic difference in just 3 months and I am so pleased with the results I have had so far
