How to brush with power chains on?

#1 Post by augustday »

Hi,
I just got powerchains all over my upper jaw for the first time since I was braced. I find that now with power chains, brushing just doesn't do good enough job as it used to (before I got power chains). I, of course, do clean with water pik, mouth wash, flossing. But I am wondering if anyone can give advice on proper brushing technique when one has power chains?
Thanks!

You know the proxabrushes? The ones that are like christmas tree shaped. You should use those in between the brackets under the wire and put toothpaste on it. If you can manage also try using those with just water ad see if you can get between the brackets on top of the wire and under the powerchain :)

Use Peroxyl Mouth Rinse by Colgate as well. Makes a HUGE difference.
