Hi everyone. I was just wondering if anyone had work done on their nose at the same time as their surgery. I have my pre surgery work up tomorrow and will ask my surgeon what he thinks, but I just wanted to know if anyone had experience with it? If so were you happy with the results? Did any of you ask your doctor about it? What did they say?
I'm curious because I fell directly onto my nose a few months ago and I'm pretty sure I deviated my septum. I can't smell anything now and I feel almost constant pressure in it and it's very uncomfortable and there's a lot of pressure when I blow my nose. I can see and feel an area where it has been flattened and I just want it back to how it was. I've heard I should wait until 6 months after the jaw surgery to have something done, but if I could get it all done in one shot, I would obviously be grateful.
If anyone has any info it'd be much appreciated!
Has anyone had a le fort 1 and septoplasty at the same time?

Hey Sam,
I had my lefort 1 with a deviated septum straightening. My septum wasn't as deviated though, probably just a hit in the nose from soccer in year's past. My surgeon went ahead and did it without me knowing but I'm happy about it.
There's nothing really exceptionally different with recovery. You can't blow your nose for some time anyways and my nose doesn't exactly feel fully functional even 9 weeks after but I'd certainly just get it all done at once.
If you can't smell anything and it hurts then it's a no brainer to get it.

That's awesome! I'm glad to hear it's at least possible. I had my workup today and they said it wasn't too badly deviated, but that they could take a closer look at it when they're "in there" and see what they can do. Hopefully they can do something!!
