Do lower braces hurt more than top?

#1 Post by england »

I've only ever had top braces, but my nieces both said that the lower braces hurt more and for longer. Has this been true for anybody?

It has not been true for me. It seemed to take the same amount of time to get used to them. I found that they moved just as fast as my upper teeth did as well, so nothing noticeable different over here! :D :)

I think the lower ones hurt more. I'm not sure why though. And they are constantly poking the inside of my cheek and lips, leaving deep indentations or little holes, so I have to wear the silicone wax a lot. But, like I said, I can't think of any reason why the lower ones hurt more. My teeth seem to move about the same on upper and lower and I got upper and lower braces on the same day.
