Ok...I've read about it. I've heard people talk about it. My ortho even warned me, about it...but I thought to myself, "naw, not me...it'll never happen to me". But...it's happening. I...AM...BORED....WITH...MY...TEETH!!!!!!!!!

Why, oh why won't they do something!! Move, shift, create a gap...FALL OUT FOR CHRIST SAKES....SOMETHING!!!!!! (ok, forget that last part) :yikes:

Here I am...day 111 and my top teeth absolutely refuse to play in this game....at...all. Refuse. They evidently really like their home, just exactly where it is. I...do not. I'm worried that my ortho is going to have to attach a chain, like the kind you do to a car while towing, to these stubborn turds, just to get some kind of movement out of them. OMG!!!!!What if they never move??!! What if I've done all this, and they never move one single bit????!!!! Then I'll have straight bottoms and crooked tops??!!!!! OMG...what have I done???
Ok...back to reality. Please pray for me my brace friends. Pray for my stubborn, pain in the arss toppsiees that don't want to be involved in my journey and quest for a better, brighter smile. My birthday is in 21 days...and all I want for my birthday....is.......SOME GO$ DAMN MOVEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-+ :-= :-(*

Ok, that's all....I'm better now. Have a great day peeps.

Hey Everyone.... :-1
I was just sitting here watching the paint dry...oh wait, I mean my upper teeth move...wondering...has anyone ever gotten braces and their teeth just did not move??? :?:
Cause these top teeth....must reaaallllyyyy like their home, cause they don't wanna leave. :-+ I have an adjustment on Tuesday, very curious as to what the Ortho has to say about the no movement, since last time he said at this rate I'll be having grand-kids before I get outta braces. :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:
My birthday is coming up....can anyone guess what I want for my birthday??? Shouldn't be hard to figure out. I just hope I'm still in the same age range.

I'm in the same boat as you (scooch over, girl!)

I was so pleased 2 weeks ago when I went in and told my ortho "Look! My tooth is moving!" He reattached the powerchain and now... two weeks later... it's not budged a millimeter. :( It looks exactly the same as it did 2 weeks ago. I'm going to ask him about it next week when I see him again. Not that I WANT him to attach coils, or other more painful things, but I really want to get that tooth moving so he can start moving my upper teeth back. As of now, he can do nothing.

Also, now that my lower teeth have been pushed forward, I have now discovered a super-duper-sharp corner on my lower left central incisor that makes my tooth look like the left side of the letter "V". (What?? Did that part of the tooth keep growing whilst hiding in the shadows back there all these years?) I want to get a sander and shave that bugger down.

Speaking of lower teeth... yours look FABU!!! I wish mine looked that good. I'm 3-1/2 months in, and haven't seen any real progress since my first month. Grrr!!!!

Allllllrighty...first, thanks to Ken and cosmo for your congrats....I partied till the wee hours of the night. Ok, well...in my mind I did.
Thanks Cathy and ashesgap for dropping in. Sorry to report...still....no...movement. The last time I was wishing for this much "movement" I was 7 months pregnant. (Ok...so it was a different kind of movement...(BM).

Had an adjustment today. Not much excitement there. My Ortho made somewhat of the same comment he did last time. "At this rate we're gonna be spending a lot of Christmas's together". Gee...lucky us. :|

He said everything looked good...but...told his assistant to tie those wire ties as tight as she could possibley tie them....and...let me tell ya...she did. :soremouth: Maybe this will get those little buggers moving. It's funny though...the last 2 times I've been in the girls have said to me.."wow do you look totally different"...so I'm thinking my teeth...then their like, "your hair is getting so long, you've lost some weight haven't you, and you look so much younger since you got highlights in your hair"....I'm like...what?? Oh...Ya...real great...I look younger....WHAT ABOUT MY TEETH...DO YOU LOVE THEM?? DO THEY LOOK YOUNGER...BETTER....SEXIER....SLIMMER....HOT TO TROTTER?????...Nope..just me. All they had to complement....was me and how great I'M looking. WHOOPIE.

Will post befores and afters tomorrow...when I get over how great I'm looking...evidently. My poor smile/teeth are/were really hurt. They long for some dental tech loving. Maybe next time. :-(( :-((

Ok....so here are my pics from my last adjustment the other day. Not much real change since last month....although...there has been just a titch movement since I took these pics (Tuesday)...on my last tooth to move on the bottom...soooo...we're gettin there. S-L-O-W-L-Y....but surely.
Before...(4-1-10)
Image
Now...((8-3-10)
Image
Is it just me...or is there a considerable change????.....

Now...tops
BeforeImage
Now...(8-3-10)
Image
These f-ers....move slower than my husband...there's movement....but not much.
And Front....as you can see...I got the "light blue" ligs(although they don't look blue for some reason in this pic). I actually really like these one's. I swear they glow in the dark. Hmmm....I oughta freak out my husband and go at him in the middle of the night....so all he'd see are teeth...."chomp...chomp...chomp"..and as "slow" as he is, he'd be all mine....bookakaka.
Image

One thing I have noticed though now that my teeth are changing. When I started this journey, my bottoms were somewhat "slanted" off to one side and now that their starting to straighted both forward and up....my smile seems REALLY crooked (like slanted) and lopsided. Hmmm...kinda hoping that all gets worked out in the end. It's funny....I never thought I could scrutinize my teeth any more than I use to before I got braces....but now I analyze every....single....tiny.....freakin.....movement (or lack there of) that goes on...go figure.

Ok...so the other day I enjoyed my very first birthday, number 37.....umm, actually I mean 21.... with....braces on. It's been an interesting 4 months with these babies on. But...it is the first birthday in quite sometime that I've actually had people say to me...what?...37...I woulda pegged you for about 10 years younger.  So, my most favorite birthday gift this year...was the one I gave myself..these lovely braces!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-V
Not much to tell about the ol teeth...the top ones have moved a titch..and I do mean, just a titch. But...I'll take any "titch" I can.

Thanks Cosmo for the kind words...how's your teeth coming along?

It's been hotter than blue frickin blazes here...and on top of the heat...it's been nice and soupy with the humidity. Anyway, I work out in our garage. We have no where in the house to set up a "gym" so we've turned our garage into a workout/game room. It's sweet....except when it's suppppper dupppper hot. So this whole week it's been in the 90's with heat index's (Jim Cantorie would be so proud of my weather lingo) of over 100. So I was working out yesterday in my oven, I mean my garage, which I'm sure was about 110, and my son came in to ask me something, and my mouth was so dried out that I literally "cut" my inside lip on my braces when I went to answer him. I thought later after he left, wow...a weather related injury...should I contact the news??? What's it going to be like in the cold....will my inside lips get frost bite???
I know, I know....a little far fetched. But, as you can tell....I just love the weather...I should have been a meteorologist!! I almost love my braces...as much as I love watching the weather channel.

Ok, so I'm sitting here, thinking...pondering...wondering...what WILL my teeth look like after all of this. :?: After all this brushing, flossing, water piking, poking, sucking, you name it teeth love makeing process.. we all do... day in and day out to achieve the most absolute best possible teeth hygiene known to man.... and then it dawned on me.......what if my expectations are too high??? What if I'm looking for Julia Roberts teeth...and instead I end up with...with....David Lettermans teeth :? .....???? I mean, there not bad...but..am I setting myself up for faliure??? That's it...that's it....from this point on, I'm gonna keep a picture of my "old" smile taped to my mirrior, so that everyday I'm reminded that no matter what the outcome....it's waaaaayyyyyy better...than what it was. WAY! And....not only will that picture remind me of what it "use" to be, but will also remind me of just exactly how lucky I am....to even HAVE....the opportunity, to make my smile better. LUCKY...DUCKY....ME!!!!

EXACTLY!! there is no use pondering on what your teeth are going to look like post braces it is evident that theya re going to be amazingly beautiful. I mean they can't be as bad as they were before. and despite Letterman having large teeth at least the are white and straight. I think about what my teeth are going to look like afterwards and honestly nothing makes me happier. Just knowing that my future hold me smiling. :) even now when i smile in pics with my braces and i see them it freaks me out because wow, i look pretty descent witha smile on my face. In my facebook page all my pics are of me and my Mr. grinch smile ( every single one of them) until, i finally can seen my teeth straight i started embracing my braces and it makes me happy to smile :) I am no longer ashamed i think they are a hot accessory. ;)

Holy Smokes....it's been so long since I've posted....I've been ousted to page 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:yikes:

Anyway...I was feeling lonely and in need of some braces humor so I got on today and read up on some stories....I've missed you all...

I've got an appointment on Monday. What do you think the chances are...that between now and then...yes...a total of ....45 hours from now....what are the chances, that maybe my teeth might..just might decide to move. Ya, probably not. Can't wait to hear what old Mr. Happy Pants is going to say about the lack of movement this month. My teeth hate me. I'm telling you...they HATE ME!!!! :-(* Maybe their still mad at me for all those "nasty boys" I introduced them to in my younger years. Or..maybe they just really, really like their home they have now...I don't know..whatever it is....I wish they'd get the stick outta their @ss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-=

Toodles for now peeps!!!!

Howdy all, :-1

So, I had an appointment yesterday...I think maybe this was my 5th adjustment. Before I even start in on how it went...I think maybe I should put in a disclosure here....IF YOUR NEW..AND HAVEN'T HAD AN ADJUSTMENT YET, DO NOT VENTURE ON, I REPEAT, DO NOT VENTURE ON!!!!!! :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:

Well, if you couldn't tell from my warning, it didn't go well. I'm starting to wonder if I don't have the most crookedest teeth they've ever seen...EVER!!!! Cause I've heard, read and been told...that it gets easier as you go along. Ahh, hmmm....not for me. Of course, it doesn't help that once again, I had good ol "nurse hatchet". And for those of you out there who have been doing this awhile, and don't always get the same tech....YES IT DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE ON WHO YOU GET AS TO HOW YOUR EXPERIENCE GOES!!!. She's terrible, awful, about as gentle as fart in the wind. All the other girls put "pressure" on the sore teeth...when their messing with them, not her...man I'd rather have a 2x4 shoved up my $ss 10times over than have her again. And I said so.

Anyway more about that later. So I get called back, by hatchet girl, so I knew right away she was going to be my tech, and I almost said something to the receptionist...instead, I just gave her sad doe eyes with just a glimpse of a tear... I go back, get in the chair and she asked me how my day was so I said, "good, till I saw you coming towards me"...(ok,ok...that's what I WANTED to say), so I was like ok. Right away, and I mean RIGHT AWAY the ortho came over, which was unusual, cause usually I have to wait about 20-30 min to see him, so I was super happy....till he spoke. Thicker wires on both the top and bottom, my wire ties weren't tied tight enough last time....so tie them supper tight, then he wanted to look to make sure....tuck them down instead of up, oh...and.....I'll be getting spacers next time...so my crown can have a molar band put on it. GOD does truly hate me. Actually, I'm thinking he doesn't want me to get to heaven with nice teeth. :-9
Can you believe all that?? Tighter??!! How in hell, can they tie those babies tighter?? Well, I got to find out. So hatchet takes out my bottom wire, fits the new one, she only jabbed in the cheek about 30 times, so....not a big deal. :-(( Finally, she get's it fit right, puts it in and says, ok...so that doesn't fall out, let's do the wire ties right away. OH YA, LETS. So she's doing these ties, (I swear next time I'm taking a picture of this) and as she's doing them, she keeps setting down her "tool" on her try and then when she goes to get it, she has to lean over, kinda back behind her, while she's holding onto the wire, that is tied around one of my teeth, in front mind you (the sore ones) and yanking my head clear out of the chair, as I'm GROANING....then when she turns back around (as my head flops back) she actually has the nerv to say to me...."I really need you to stay in the same position I leave you in when I get my things"...?????????????????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WTF...WTF.....W...............T...................F.............. :-(* :-(* :-(* are you...freakin....kidding me?????? You do realize that my tooth....is attached by a root....into my bone.....that you have tied with a wire, and you are now holding onto.....as you turn....THE OTHER FRICKIN WAY!!!!!!! Oh, ya...I wasn't happy...and after about the 4th time of her doing/saying that, I finally had to say something. The pain, was so bad....I had sweat dripping down my temples. Me. I don't sweat...I glisten. But I had BUCKETS....of sweat. BUCKETS. So she finally gets the top and bottom 4 front teeth done, and she's like ok...now for your ligs. So she's going along....missing half of the time and jabbing my gums.....AGAIN.....with her tool and she gets to my front teeth, that are....SORE....and she loops one, and goes to do the top part without even thinking.....and holy mother of all that is wrong with this picture, she about took out my fricking tooth. I yelped so loud people came running. I just lost it. I was like, How many....mother loving times....do I have to tell you....those teeth...are sore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-+ Is the sweat running down my back, legs, forehead, neck and between my BOOBS...not a clue that you are putting me in some frickin pain?????? And she just looked at me and was like, well....sometimes it can be a titch sore for adults..???? Go away. Get up, and just go away before I vomit all over your head. NOW. NOW!!!
So the ortho's personal assistant finished....not one ounce of pain. Not....one. Zero. Zilch. Zippo. And she even warned me, that this could hurt here, or there. None. Why? Because HER head can see daylight. :-**
Ya, it wasn't a good visit. At all. And the last time I had her was bad to, but I thought, we all have bad days.....I'm not going to say anything. Well, guess what. I said something this time. I thought to myself, I sure hope some poor kid hasn't had to put up with her. Anyway, so I came home and put ice on my hands...where I had dug my fingernails into the tops of them. No kidding, that bad. Then I told everyone, and they were all like, "holy crap, your pretty tough, she HAD to have been terrible"...yes..she was. I do believe, she is SANTAN disguised as a dental tech.
I might post pics...I don't know, not much change since last time, that and my mouth is really sore today. I'm going to be eating soft food for a couple days I'm sure. I cannot believe I'm going to get the dreaded spacers I've read so much about. That outta be interesting.
But...not one time....NOT...ONE....TIME....did it even cross my mind, "oh, I wish I had never gotten braces, then I wouldn't have to go through this" Still worth it. Every second is still worth getting better teeth. (cause next time...I'll just punch her in her teeth....and that'll make me feel better instantly  )

Toodles for now peeps.....
