Alright braced comrades....I've lived through another god awful adjustment. :soremouth: I sure hope these get better as time goes on. Anyway, here's my new green ligs....
Image

To say it hurt...was an understatement. I went in, the tech took of my purple ligs...which for the most part was painless. I have 2 teeth teeth that were a bit sore when she was taking them off. I have 2 teeth, one on each side of my front 2, that the brackets are so close to my front 2 it's almost impossible to get those ligs on...or off. So when she would try to get them off she would lift and try to get them off...and then miss and she would jerk and ram her tool against my gums......MFDIH!!!!! :ouch: Ya...not a happy camper was I. She kept apologizing, but....my poor gums.
Anyway, so then the doc came over and being the talkative person he is.... said.."looking good, changer her out...let me know when your done so I can check it"....and this..is where the fun began. NOT.
So, she's like..."I know this is probably going to hurt, but I'll do my best"...OK nurse hatchet. So she does all my side teeth both top and bottom...no problem. No pain...Nada. Then she starts on my front top 4. This...is where....I saw white. So she does my very front 2...that was ok. A little tender but I could handle that. She then goes to my right side...barley gets that one. Jerks her tool into my gums about 4 times, between the pain of that and the pain of my tooth feeling like it was literally being pulled out without any pain meds....I had sweat just pouring off of me. Then, she goes to the left one and I swear to god...to GOD...I started shaking. After the 3rd try I finally told her she had to stop. I was shaking, sweating, the pain was un-frickin-believable. :-(* I told her, if were gonna do this again, we've gotta get it right on the next try or I'm gonna hit someone. This hurts, and it hurts bad. So she goes and gets the dentist....(thank you...god in heaven) So, he comes in and is like..."ya, I knew those ones were going to be sore. Their the one's that have the farthest to move up there"...Gee, thanks for pre-warning me...DA!!!! So he sits down, tells the tech to "hold" the back of that tooth, (put pressure on it) and says "honey, it feels that way cause it's literally moving the bone" takes the lig and says...here we go...he loops the top and goes to loop the bottom and all you hear is...crack :-(( ....snap..it goes on. At the same time...the tech says's "did you hear that???!!!" and the dentist says.."that's a first". Ya...that crack was my tooth moving down out of the bone as he hooked the bottom part. Oh ya, did I mention I had tears at this point strolling down my check. AND...all my brackets are double ligged....so.. we had to do it....AGAIN. :-+

Not a good day yesterday. Not at all. The bottoms ones (middle 4) were sore also, only one as bad as that top one....but at least they got done on the first try. (Thanks to the fact the dentist himself did it) The ortho said as I was leaving, "you might want to take some pain meds ASAP and take it easy"....YA THINK!!!!.

Surprisingly though, no pain eating last night, which really surprised me. This morning...a little tender, but still not anywhere as bad as I thought it was going to be. Mother in heaven I hope those adjustments get a little less painful. That was like having a tooth extracted minus the novocaine.

He said everything was going well and he'd see me at the end of the month....HUH?? WHAT??? So soon??? I need time. I need...a...to gurt up my loins. Pain...again...so soon. I'm scared. I want my mommy. :yikes:

I'll post befores and afters later. I'm still in shock that I'll have to go through this....twice...in a month.

K...I was obviously on something...cause you remember my comment about how "oh, it surprisingly doesn't hurt"..ya...ok...well I just tried to eat lunch with the hubby and I went to chomp down on something and boo ya.....the teeth are seriously tender. Drooled half of it back out of my mouth...(how sexy am I... :smoken: ) Guess I'll be eating pudding and yogurt for a couple days. .......I should have known better....

Thanks cosmo....my story doesn't even begin to "read" how I truly feel. My friends and family are always telling me how goofy my facial expressions are while telling a story. Just trying to get it across on print...

Oh ya...those little buggers are moving out..."move on down, move on down the rooooaaaaddd...." There use to be a time where I could stick my tounge between my top middle 2 and the ones next to them...not...any...more, the corners are almost touching.....

Ok I know I've posted like 45 times today but I was just looking at my pics again and I'm just shocked....SHOCKED I tell you  at the fact my teeth are moving. Me...little ol me is someday, gonna have a straight smile. Holy....freakin....moly. I think when that day finally arrives....I'm gonna poop my pants. Sorry, there's just no other way to put it....I will poop my pants. But.....I'll have a smile on my face while doing so...and.... it'll be...STRAIGHT!!!!!!!!     :jump:

(Do you get the picture? Do you truly feel my excitement???)

Hey Jen :D

...just thought I'd catch up on your story. Sorry to hear about the torture of your last adjustment. :-+ You really have to go twice a month now? What a bummer...
Anyhow, your teeth are making noticable progress. I see it especially in the bottoms. That's so cool! Yep, it's so amazing to see 'em move. When you've lived with these teeth for years it's almost unbelievable when you really start to see some action. I'm psyched for ya...

Oh, and those ligs look awesome...so festive! Looks like your anything but shy about your braces now!

Ok....please..someone tell me that it's "normal" to get gaps where you never had them nor wanted them before :yikes: ......SEE
Image

See that??!!! DO YOU SEE THAT GAP!!!!??? :yikes: Please tell me that this is all part of the plan. You know....kinda like it's gotta get worse before it gets better type thing. Not only wasn't there ever a gap, but that tooth was behind another one, kinda...

This has all happened just since last Tuesday  , AND...the tooth next to it...is almost in line with the bottom 4 (kinda hard to see in my "professional" pictures). WOWZEES :-* :-* ....when they decide to start.....there's no stoppin those little buggers!!!!!!!

I couldn't tell you if it's normal or not but I am certain it has to be. That baby moved fast!!!. I've seen other people develope gaps because things are shifting. I am sure that's whats going on with you. congrats on major movement.!

Jen :D

I think your new gap is just a matter of your teeth "looking worse before they look better". I feel like it's just a temporary thing, and part of the process. I'm sure your ortho won't leave you like that. I had a gap between my left central and lateral incisors when starting this. Now it's looks huge to me, but I'm sure it will be closed eventually (probably w/ a power chain), so I'm not going to worry about it.

Keep smiling.....

Seriously, you should be an author. Or a comedy writer. You'd get paid a fortune! Your descriptions and stories are hilarious and addictive! I'm feeling all the highs and all the lows with you!

Ok...so I broke down and bought a water pik..pic....pike....pick...how ever the schmell it's spelled. And I can honestly say...HOLY CRAP IT'S A WEAPON. I mean, really...I could kill someone with this thing on high. Hmmmm...maybe. No, no... ok anyway, there should be a warning or something in with the directions. Crime-ma-nee-christmas :x .......I turned the massive tool on... unknowingly aiming it in the direction of my mouth...(not it my mouth) and all hell broke loose :yikes: ....water was shooting everywhere :yikes: ...in my nose...my ear...on the mirror, meanwhile I'm screaming at the top of my lungs...ahhhhh, sh#t...crap....muva f*cker...how the bleep a de bleep bleep bleep do you turn this bleeping thing off!!!!!! :-(* As I turn it towards me to try and turn if off....bam...yep...I did it, I shot myself right frickin square in the eyeball. (Funny thing is, I always wanted a fake eyeball. You know, so I could take it out at party's......NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) My husband comes running in, the kids (who were in the bathroom at the time) start screaming and crying, you'da thought I'd shot myself with an M16, many times over....what with all the commotion going on in my bathroom. Hell, the last time I had that much screaming and yelling going on in a bathroom....well, lets just say we weren't focused on cleaning our teeth...
Ya, lets just say it was an experience never to be forgotten. So, I put it back in the box for a couple days, scared to death to even approach it, thinking I'd for sure end up with some sorta laceration across my face if I'd do it again. But, alas....I did give it another go, on low mind you and I must say....it feels quite yummy in my mouth. My gums are like "oh yaaaa, that feels super spiffy" and I'm very surprised at how much stuff it gets out. I have a cordless one, and am a bit worried my 11 year old is gong to sneak it out and use it as a "squirt gun"....oh well, as long as he's squirting the neighbor kids teeth and gums....what the hell do I care!!!!!
