Hi Guys,
I had an appointment yesterday and the ortho got what looked like dental floss... he zig zagged it around the brackets and then tied it in a few knots at the end and has made the braces quite tight. He didnt take out my wires or undo the brackets, it kinda looks like a powerchain but it isnt. Any ideas why he would do this?
Has aly one got the same? You cant see the stuff very well as its pretty clear, its hard to shove the xmas tree brush to floss with it too.
Cheers.
Not powerchains..

I believe what you are talking about is ties. I had those for like 2 weeks and then they switched them to power chains. I'd have to say i'd much rather have the ties instead of power chains because i believe they are alot less painful but mine had to be switched because it was creating mini spaces between the teeth which shouldnt be there, and a peice of it kinda came loose. They are a bit of a pain to get used to but you'll get used to them. Cleaning is a bit more challenging cause you got it tied around the bracet so food likes to get trapped up in there. Give it a few days and you should be back to normal eating again!!

lol ya food does get stuck in them so much more then just the regular wire and bracet setup. not sure when mine will come off though, the ortho didn't say when they were going to come off so i guess i'll have to him lol
ya the pain does go down after a little while. I still find that i do still have some pressure when I eat certain things. Its not as bad as it was but I still find i have some pressure pain.
