hmm well I just posted a thread yesterday about elastics so feel free to join our discussion in there!

I was able to eat with them when they were from the inside molar band to the outside molar band. The way I have them on currently I cannot. So I guess it depends. Give it a try and u will know!

A question off topic...how do I place more than 1 ticker in my messages? I tried to paste two and 1 got erased.

I can't chew with mine in either, so I have been instructed to take them out when eating. Wear them as much as you can, which should be nearly all the time. Yes, they hurt, but they do things the archwires cannot.

I have been able to chew with my elastics in all of my various configurations, however I usually take them out because it is less enjoyable eating with them in! I usually take them out right before eating and put them back in right after. This was tough when going out to dinner with a group of people in a social setting, but I learned to take them out and go back to the restroom and put them back in right after so that I don't have to keep them out the entire one or two hours during the meal!

Elastics can hurt, a lot! However my BEST advice is to keep them in despite the pain! Once your teeth get used to the elastics (2 to 3 days) they stop hurting. However, if you keep taking them out to relieve the pain your teeth will take longer to get used to the elastics. Its no fun, but they work so well, I have always been impressed.

you must of deleted your old image code, you need to keep your old one and add the new one to the top of it or the bottom of it.

elastics dont stop you from eating anything that braces lets you eat!

I thought elastics would slow my eating - or even prevent it altogether. But, no!
I do take them out for eating meals, but if it's just a crafty biscuit or chunk of chocolate, I just sort of post it through the gap and slosh it down with a cup of tea.
However, sometimes I get over enthusiastic when chewing and the bands snap - quite alarming!!

They can be bad.....I couldn't get used to mine either. But I could never get used to having braces on my bottom teeth. They irratated me,top ones were fine, but the bottom's were just annoying.

I loved putting my elastics on.....back to the top,but I totally disliked having braces on my botttom teeth

I just was put in elastics..again. I thought I was done with them. They are so tight in my mouth that I can barely move my mouth to speak.
