Sorry if this has been asked - I do search, but it's difficult to be specific
Anyway...after 2 weeks of braces, I'd not had any pain and had been eating fairly normally until yesterday when my lower right banded 3rd molar became painful. Is this normal? I'd expect pain in my front teeth to hurt as they move but I imagined this tooth would be fairly stable. I shall chew on the left for the moment, until I lose that function as well
Apparently that is not that uncommon. I recently had a molar begin hurting 3 weeks after an adjustment, normally as you know the pressure and soreness subsides a few days after the adjustment. In my case I got elastics and this caused more pressure on the one lower molar and the tenderness lasted several days. I was concerned but was told this is not that unusual, just another little orthodontic suprise that we all deal with.
Hopefully your case, like mine is nothing serious and your soreness ends quickly.
