Those pictures of you in the fat suit are really funny. I bet it was weird to have people think that you are attractive all the time, then going to having strangers look at you like "Man, who is that big ugly woman over there!" lol

Hey girl.... you are so pretty.... why in the world did u need braces again.... :D

I love your Halloween outfit girl.... at first I thought I was watching an episode of Tyra!

I would post my Haloween pictures from last year but...... might get kicked off the site... but so u know it did have thigh highs/skirt/boots....

here is a copy of my post from today:
Today I was introduced to the water pick. What an incredible device of torture!!! Being completely naive as to its power, I fired it up and pulled the "trigger" directly at my tin grin without a second thought. Not respecting the impact the kickback sent my aim way off mark and I blasted down my face and neck leaving a red trail(no blood though). I've read on the site how beneficial they are, so once I recomposed myself, I set up to blast away again. I felt like Jonhny Knoxville or Stevo setting up for the pain of a stunt! Again I pulled the "trigger" and blammo. I'm very confident that all the food debris and also any graffitti has been removed. I'm scared of my water pick. Am I the only one?

Do u have one of these... WOW... if so be careful!

How was your day today? Mine was good I think it is getting better. Still waxing up and taking 30 minutes to floss.....

Denise wrote on here about tongue thurst ..... I never heard of this b4 and so far that make 3 of us with it... crazy..... right

Wow Denise! I had no idea it was possible to correct a tongue thrust with tongue exercises!! I'm definitely going to talk to my ortho about that! I really don't want to have the surgery done if I can help it  :? I'm kind of sick of docs at the moment. lol  I can't figure out what a tongue ball is though... i googled it and just got a bunch of tongue piercings... :| let me know what happens with that! Very interesting.... :o Good luck with your braces and tongue exercises though! Do you have to do them with a therapist or anything? Or just alone... in a mirror... laughing at yourself lol I know I'd be cracking up at myself I'm sure...

JBrace you are TOOOO sweet, I'm not so sure people think I'm attractive all the time lol I'm really just a MASSIVE dork! :jump: But thank you for the compliment, I'm flattered   But yeah, it was really weird... but HILARIOUS. People weren't sure if I was for real or not, so if I went to the mall like that or something they would do this fearful double take... and then try not to laugh. :-* I'll have to link up some videos sometime...

Ooooh my dearest METALMOUTHPOOH lol it's so weird to call people by a screen-name on here haha I'm definitely new to this "forum" world  My day was good, still learning that I can't SMILE  as big as I usually do. haha For now, I have to have a little wire sticking out in the back, and so if I smile too big my cheeks get caught... and that just leads to another 12-84 minutes (depending on the crowd lol) of laughing at Amber. :-(( Pooey. haha But once the pain subsides I can usually laugh along

How are ya? How was your day? Have you tried those fantastical flossing thingers yet? I searched for them in my TINY town today, but haven't found them yet... I'll probably have to order them. just curious if it would be worth it.

So... #1. You are super sweet, thanks for the compliment   #2. I love Tyra! And that fat-suit episode was crazy! Ugg... people like that make me sick... but that's a whole other forum haha #3. Your halloween costume sounds scandolous! LOL It sounds like it would have looked amazing on Helga! lmaoo  :yikes: but I'm sure much better on you! lol :-**

You know... I've actually never heard of a tongue thrust before either and it's totally nuts that here we all are! haha But way cool, I didn't think anybody would've known what it was. I've never heard of a water pik though... :Questions: sounds scary though. Does it help? Maybe I'll look into getting one... haha I feel bad, you're like my little guinea pig

Let me know how the water pik and everything else is goin! Hope you're having a fantabulicious evening! :-*

Hey All,

KK -Thank you for the great articles on tongue thrusting - I believe the tongue ball appliance my ortho spoke to me about was featured in the first web link you posted. Although they did not call it a tongue ball.

Amber - usually you will have to have a speech therapist assist you in correcting your tongue thrust. However, I did some internet research and found several exercises for the mouth and tongue and did them on my own for a few months consistently everyday and managed to correct my tongue thrust. My Ortho insists that the tongue ball device works fine to correct the tongue thrust. Hopefully I won't have to use it.

We could form our own Deviant Swallowers Club :)

Have a great day all!!!

Wow, thank you SO much KK! Those articles were VERY helpful! :jump: Not to mention I had no idea there was a place to buy from here... or Lynn...

Denise, how long have you been doing the tongue exercises? Have you noticed a difference at all? Boy, I am SOOOOO glad I found this place! From what the articles had to say, it sounds like I could be completely okay with NOT having surgery, and that would be WONDERFUL!  And we TOTALLY should make our own Deviant Swallowers Club!! FOR SURE! :-#)

CASSIE! haha that's much better :-1 So, an electric toothbrush too hey? YAY! :jump: Yes, I shall patiently await your PROFESSIONAL REVIEW. haha I'm definitely interested in this "water pik" now! I keep hearing about it, and as scared as I am of it's power... in the right hands I think it might be pretty helpful! MAY THE POWER BE WITH YOU! haha I'm going STRAIGHT to the store after work today and getting one! So how's it going? Are you still sore?

That was a great emoticon! haha I've just recently discovered these little things (since I'm new to the forum world as it is) and as you can see... I'm addicted to them. haha    ESPECIALLY <-- that one! I LOVE IT! haha

To my fellow Deviant Swallowers - check out youtube - just type in tongue thrust and watch the first 3 videos. Interesting and funny.

Amber - I started the tongue exercises on my own since May of this year when my ortho diagnosed me with the tongue thrusting habit. I have noticed a change in the way that I swallow - no more pushing against my top front teeth. I am swallowing pushing up and back against the roof of my mouth.

Take care

Good Luck! haha Mine has the adjustment thinger, and it's for sure a PLUS! It actually just saved me! haha I SHREDDED floss in one of my brackets, but on FULL FORCE that "firehose for braces" got 'er right out! :D I'm LOOOOVIN it! 8)

Whoa whoa whoa... did you say you might LOVE them??    WOOOHOOO! Now THAT'S doing GOOOOD! lol  I'm so happy for ya! :D

LMAOO!! Nope, no Helga this time. But the date was a DISASTER! lol We didn't even get to dinner! haha Wanna hear the (unfortunately) short story? lol well too bad you can't respond... cause now you're going to hear it if you like it or not. haha

It was sort of a "blind date"... I saw pics, but I had never met him before. He came to pick me up... and was much cuter than the pics (so that was a plus lol  ) Anyways... he started walking and I realized he had a pretty bad limp/gimp (you could tell something was wrong with his leg)... which is fine- but it made me feel AWFUL right off the bat for suggesting we go for a WALK (which he kindly declined and suggested a movie). :-(( I felt bad... but we continued to the movie. We sat down and of course ('cause I was so nervous) I sat in the same position for the ENTIRE movie... with my right leg crossed the whole time. I was too nervous to move lol!
So everything was going good, until the movie ended... I stood up... and realized my entire LEG (from the knee down!!!!) had completely FALLEN ASLEEP!!! Soooo... here I was trying DESPERATELY to not let him realize that I was limping!!!! I didn't want him to think I was making fun of him or anything!!! Ugggg I felt HOOOOORRRRRRRRRIBLE!!! lol So... I RAN into the bathroom and was practically BEATING my leg to death, trying to get it to WAKE UP! (haha you should have seen the look on some of the chick's faces!! One of them was like: "ummm... are you okay?" haha :biglaf: ) Buuuut... we ended up just going our seperate ways after that. :-(( lol I felt soooooooooooo bad! Here I was worrying about my braces... and I end up doing something like THAT!!! oy oy oyyyy.... leave it to me pft

Oh well... I'm sure there's plenty more dates to ruin in the future... lol :P
