Hi Laurie, and a late welcome to you. I had fun reading and catching up on your story.

I hope your headaches are starting to lessen. I remember having them too in the beginning (and oddly the top of my nose even hurt for a while) but they eventually went away. I hope yours do very soon.

Sorry to hear you are waiting for those lowers. I had to wait for mine too (due to a scheduling issue, not movement) so I can understand your wish to get the show on the road with the lowers!

Hope your adjustment was a good one!
Uppers placed 2/8/06--Inspire ICE ceramics

I'm fairly new to this and yet I can say your teeth are slightly worse than mine. The right side of my jaw doesn't even touch. But just looking at the picture of the spacers bring back lovely memories. :FeelSick: But I hope your teeth are doing well! Good luck on the rest of your journey!

Emmy, I just checked out your photos and your teeth are moving fast!

Granola, the headaches are indeed better. I've had a few but nothing like I was having. (Amen to that!)

Well, I had my first adjustment on the 9th of July and did indeed have my lowers braced at that time. I have one tooth on bottom that grew in horizontal rather than vertical and it's giving me holy heck! I'm so ready for that sucker to stand up so I can quit having such a time with chewing!

Since then I've had to go in twice because of the wire coming lose from the bracket. That one pesky horizontal tooth has now been double wire tied to ensure it staying attached. I told my husband it felt more like having bailing wire put in my mouth than anything else! LOL! He asked to see and then I was rewarded with the appropriate "oohs and ahhs" at it's crookedness and wiredness. Why is it I have such a grim satisfaction when someone agrees with the horribleness of something in my mouth? ROFL! I do believe this tooth will replace the status of my "fang" teeth that have since moved almost all the way into line and no longer require such grim fascination.

I do plan on posting some update photos but alas my husband has the camera in his truck right now and his truck is with him at work.

Hi Laurie,

I've just read through your journal and I'm looking forward to seeing your progress pics! From your three week ones I think it looks like your teeth are moving very quickly!

I understand the fang problem, I have very prominent canines and often got vampire taunts  I doubt they would have been laughing so hard if i'd actually bit them!! I can't wait for mine to come down into line, I'm only 2 days in braces so i'm very impatient!!

Hope things continue to run smoothly,

Amy

Laurie, congrats on being fully braced! I know what you mean about the one weirdo tooth growing sideways -- I've got one like that too; isn't sideways but is tipped in about 45 degrees.

Glad your headaches have subsided. I've been prone to them ever since I was a kid. I never thought it was because of my teeth, and I still doubt if that's the case, but you never know!

Congrats on joining the fully braced club Laurie. Isn't it a PITA having to wait? I had to wait 6 months before I got my uppers on and I was champing at the bit!
Looking forward to seeing the new pics when you get the chance.

That is a really funny statement (and I can relate which is probably why I found it so funny). :D

I'm so happy to hear your headaches have subsided!

Wow! So many responses! Thank you so much MilknCereal, AmyBettyB, cwatt1, KK, granola, jt2lang, linda21, and Lisa65 for your replies! I feel kinda special now! LOL!

AmyBettyB I have to admit that having my fangs gone is one of the best parts about this so far. It does wonders for my self-image.

cwatt1 It's wild how teeth can grow into all different spaces, nooks, crannies, an directions!

KK I'm ALL for boring!

jt2lang We start back to school on the 27th of August. I'm a lunch goddess (lunch lady is such a blah term) for the middle and high school campus. So I get to see lots of kids going through orthodontic treatment. It's kind of fun when we even have the same ortho. I started talking to some of the kiddos before school was out and comparing notes so to speak. In fact even my nephew who goes to school where I work will be getting braces on right before school starts! LOL!

Linda21 I agree! Here here to that tooth learning it's place!

lisa Six months? Yuck! I agree, major pain in the rumpus. It made me feel like I was wasting time without my bottoms on for six weeks. Six months must of been past annoyance and straight into aggravation.

Milk and Cereal Every time I see your name I mourn my lack of ability to eat nice crunchy cereal! (snicker)

Granola I think part of the reason I find it so wonderful for my husband to agree on how horrible my teeth are/were is because it makes me feel a little less guilty on dishing out about $5,000 on my teeth! It's kind of like "SEE! See what I've had to live with! It's worth getting fixed, right? Right? RIGHT!?"

SO, now... here's some pictures to catch me up to current.

I've only had my lowers on since the 10th of July so there isn't as much improvement as of yet.

Wow Laurie, there's been some major remodelling work going on in that top arch  I'm sure hubby will agree that it's been money well spent! I can see some difference in the lower ones, too. Let's hope that horizontal one gets the message soon and stands up nicely with its companions

Great pics

Thanks everyone for your replies. I'm really happy with my progress so far.

Lisa65, my husband keeps telling me to quit worrying about the money but I do anyway. LOL!

Miss Smiley, my nephew had his wedding in July and I thought that plain gray would be best. Honestly though, I don't like them at all. I think they look ugly.

jt2lang, this past year Texas passed a law changing when schools could start. Our days off are going to be weird this year.

platinum, those suckers started moving right off and I'd say within seven or eight weeks they moved to where they are now. I was really thrilled about it too.

KK, thank you! I hope they keep moving at a good clip too!

There HAS been improvement in your lower arch! Your canines are lined up much closer to your incisors than before! Plus as has been stated, your upper arch is looking great.

Way to go! You must be thrilled :!:
