I've always brushed my teeth 3 times a day during the week and a minimum of 2 times a day on the weekends. I don't floss daily but I do at least 3 times a week. I did notice this morning I had no bleeding at all while brushing so perhaps my oral hygienist did what she did for a reason. She did mention something about my gums being a little swollen but it will go down throughout the day. I was overdue 3 weeks on my teeth cleaning appointment so that didn't help any. Anyway...I'm just glad I'm back on track with my oral health. I feel a sore throat coming on so I'll take pics as soon as I feel better.

It's been awhile since I've posted any pics. I've been really busy with work/school so I am usually tired most of the time. The pressing issue last time I mention were my upper central teeth were still crooked and moving with thicker wires. Last month there were no changes so taking pics was pointless. My orthodontist did tell me that if there wasn't any movement when March comes around he'll put on a spring over the problematic teeth to create space for movement. Well March did come around and there wasn't any movement. I knew what was going to happen. He put on a spring and later on that day i was suffering already. The next day I had a small gap in my upper centrals. I've never had a gap and now I do. It's embarrassing but I'll get over it. I assume I will have the spring on for just a month and then he'll move on to the next step to straighten out these 2 teeth. The tenderness has all by gone away so it's not bad at all now. I'll try my best to take pics before I take off to Dallas this Thursday.

Hi M1k3y,

Your teeth are looking good! Great improvement from the beginning. I feel ya on the money thing. I had to wait until I had money too before getting braces and now I'm 32. But I'm happy I stepped up to the plate as you did.

When is your time estimate to get your braces off? Your uppers almost look complete. I would have demanded the spring during your previous visit when he said 'wait and see'. I would have that same feeling you had in that 'its not going to improve in another month). Amazing how fast that spring worked to create a gap. 1-day...sheehs that must have been some serious amount of pressure on your teeth. You have any pics of the spring mechanism?

Good luck and keep the updates going. Great to see progress of others :D

Okay here are some pics finally. I know I've been behind but I finally came through. These pics are horrendous because they are from my cell phone but that was my only option at the time. You can't really see but I have a spring coil on my left upper central tooth to create a gap in the middle. One tooth was behind the other preventing my teeth to straighten out. I had this spring on for March and April. This is what my teeth looked like. Don't mind the gum. Haha

I had my adjustment for this month already just days ago and I will charge up my batteries to my digicam and take those pics soon.

I know it has been awhile but I managed to take pics for this month. Here is my progress so far. There are some issues that are being addressed. My midline is still off and I had some small gaps in the upper left side of my teeth which explains why you see the "half power chain" on that side. I date the gum line on my upper middle teeth and I'm starting to see a bad stain under one of my upper brackets. This vexes me but I guess I'll have to wait till the braces come off this coming fall. One of my middle teeth is longer than the other and one still isn't aligned with the rest of my upper teeth. I just hope all of this can be taken care of soon. Enjoy the pics.

Thanks Granola. I can only hope my teeth look half as good as yours. I think your teeth are top 3 on this site easily. I envy your gorgeous smile.

They sure are Miss Smiley. I've been keeping tabs of your progress as well. I hope your adventure goes well.

Well I do have an update. My Ortho was so impressed in my most recent visit that he says if all goes well I'll have my retainers next month. This means my braces will be coming off. Woohoo! This will put me at 2 months ahead of schedule. However if I feel that I still need some work I will go one more month. I currently have a powerchain across all my upper teeth and I wear criss-cross rubber bands on both sides of my teeth. I will post photos tonight.
