just another overbite issue

#1 Post by ABraces2007 »

Hi, guys,
As you`ve probably read in my previous posts, as a result of getting braces my teeth aligned beatifully in just 2 months and i got a bit of overbite which i never had before. Next week an orthodontic implant will be placed to work as an anchor in my mouth and move my front teeth back.
The reason why i`m writing right now is that the way my teeth look right now is amazing... they are 100% beautiful and hot... but with a little overbite (it`s insignificant, about 2-3mm) which makes my upper lip puff a bit, which i absolutely love and my teeth show much more than they did before, and i love it as well!!!
Do you think my ortho knows better which would be the final result and it`s supposed to be the best or should i tell her i`m loving what my teeth are looking like right now and not to push my teeth way back??
I`m not trying to shorten the treatment time, nor save money- just loving the way i look right now!!!
I`m also conscience that my extraction gaps should be closed and it will move my teeth somehow, but i just don`t know what to expect on final result...

must discuss with ortho

Hi. I remember my ortho speak about how different people have different preferences regarding slant of teeth etc. The default is that the ortho tries to get teeth as close to some model if ideal teeth shape/ angle. However, my ortho said that in the finishing stages we would disucss my prefeneces about the slant/ angle of the teeth etc. so if you like the way you look- tell him.

Well, red indian that was exactly what i was trying to figure out- What is the default image all the orthos try to get? As i can imagine there should be any kind of formula in which regarding your jaw measures and your arch, etc, there should be perfect smile for each of us. If this formula exists and they make their best job to achieve it, then i`ll just let my ortho go all her way. Since my very second week in braces and till now i loved the way it was progressing and each day/week it`s better then i could imagine...
