I had my lower teeth debanded yesterday (supposed to be ALL teeth but apparently there was a gap in the upper so I get those off on the 12th). I have a bonded lower retainer plus an Essix. The Essix rubs a bit. There is nothing sharp but I think I'm adjusting to it because there are parts of the inside of my mouth that feel sore. It also makes me gag sometimes! I was reading earlier posts by people who also had this reaction. Right now I'm taking it out when I can't stand it anymore.
It's been less than 24 hours. I can sleep in it ok so far. I looked at it and can't see any excess acrylic to be shaved off.
It gets better, right? Is there anyone here who thinks it never gets better? And if so, what did you do about it?
Essix = ouch?

Yeah, the lovely gaps. At least I'm not adjusting to retainers times two! I guess that is a high point. Actually times three because I have a bonded one on the lower also.
Serves me right though
I heard someone was going to be debanded before me but when they weren't, I felt, um, victorious! Karma, you know.
Serves me right though
