Well I had my first appointment with the surgeon yesterday and there was good news and bad. Good news is they can do the jaw surgery the bad news was my current health insurance did not cover it. But I found a solution to that so all is well. Monday I get 4 perfectly good teeth ripped out... booo to that. And then in a few weeks I get braces. That surgery is 19,000 he said! Wow!! I will get some before pics hopefully this weekend so i have a start to all of this... Wish me luck this is all finally about to start happening and I am nervous and excited at the same time...

Are you going to have to pay 19,000$ out of your own pocket? Did I read that right, I sure hope not. Good luck with your surgery on Monday. Can't wait to see some progress pics

No I found an insurance company that will cover it 90% and I only cover 10% I am gonna switch to it open season in november. I am nervous about this whole deal I want it so badly but at the same time the change scares me... I always try to embrace change rather than fear it (as is human nature) but this is hard!

Good luck BracesRacer - it is quite a hard decision initially but you have done the right thing. The only thing I can say from my experience is that you will never regret it.
The future depends on what we do in the present.

Be carefull when switching insurance, sometimes theres a pre-existing waiting period before they will cover you.
Just a thought.

Good Luck with everything.
