Yes, floss! - Oral-B superfloss is great - highly recommend it. It does get easier in a few days - but those first few days - I just took a deep breath and went ahead.

Yep, daily flosser here. I shredded a few Oral B superfloss threads in the early days, but have got it down pat now. Can do both arches in around 2-3 minutes (OK, maybe 5).

I'll admit that I gave up flossing completely, but I never was a flosser to begin with. I still brush thoroughly 1-2 times a day and use a waterpik to remove food stuck in my braces/teeth a couple times per day as well.

Yup... first few days hurt. I think I might have skipped one day in there when I was really sore. But really it will get better within a week. For the first 2-3 days, I was so sore after flossing that my teeth were throbbing so I took some tylenol. That helped (or just waiting a while helped...). Just keep on going, though, and it will get better quickly.

I continue to floss. My teeth fit more tightly together as a result of the spacers, so some of the teeth are painful to floss. I couldn't get floss between 4 teeth, but after a few days, I could squeeze some Glide floss in the spaces. I've gotten so good at it that I only need the floss threader for a few teeth.

I think once I get my braces off I will be more inclined to floss daily. I just haven't picked it up as a daily routine, plus flossing with braces is a big pain. :?

The subject of dental floss came about when one of the women ( who is a carer for the elderly)mentioned that one of her ladies had about 4 boxes of the stuff and she didnt actually have any teeth!!i was surprised that noone else flossed i guess i thought i was the only lazy one!!!
I m not saying you shouldnt or anything just saying that i personally dont-saying that your right -i should look after my gums as well as my teeth after all gum disease isnt pleasent! :(

I have been a confirmed none flosser for pretty much my whole life until about 3 years ago. I went for a cleaning for the first time in a long while.
It was the most horrific painfull experience ive had ever. The hygenist had to stop half way through and rechedule for a week later to finish.
Since than ive been religous about flossing and my last cleaning took about 1/2 an hour with no pain and just a little sensitivity to my gums.
Bottom line, floss floss floss !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just recently bought a water pick and sonic brush ( getting ready for brace day :) ), wow, these things are great.
