Probably I did not understand you fully, yea. The same goes for you, because I didn't mean that its up to the patient to get 1 or 2 jaws braced, it of course its the docs decision. But if the doc explains that it doesn't make a difference for the treatment, then the patient doesn't need any professional orthodontic training to make the decision their own!
Also when the doc explains some procedure and two choices carefully a patient of course can choose what better fits him, sometimes of course the patient has to ask for those 2 options, because the docs mostly assume the patient just goes with the way the ortho wants it. Noone of course should be so rude to tell the ortho what he has todo, he would not do that anyway.
Hope that we now both properly understand what we mean
Another example to this is the headgear I will get. Or in other words don't get, because there are alternates which I will ask for, and if there is no good reason those alternates are impossible for me, I will get those alternates because I want them, they was not offered, they were my wish and I am the patient whose jaws are altered and who has to walk around with braces and pays the treatment.
