Teeth Cleaning After Debanding?

#1 Post by Samantha08 »

So Im getting debanded on Oct 19th (YAY!) and I called my dentist to set up my regular cleaning appointment, and they put it on the same day that I get my braces off. Is this a good idea? I dont see how it could be a bad thing, but are my teeth going to be really sore? Im just trying to see what to expect. Thanks!

Im guessing you should be ok, at least you'll have nice shiny white teeth by the end of the day. If its too much you could always get the dentist to stop and re arrange the appointment for another day.

Sounds ideal to me - when the day comes, my dental hygenist is the first stop I want to make! Then you'll sparkle when showing your new smile! Good luck to you and congratulations!

I also have a cleaning appointment the same day of my debanding, November 7th! :D The debinding time is 8:30am and cleaning is 10:40am. Please come back and tell me how it went, since you are 3 weeks before me.

I think that sounds like perfect timing - that way your amazing new smile will be its perfect, whitest, shiniest possible for showing everyone your great achievement! I'm guessing that if you're getting debanded then your teeth must have been in a "holding" position for a while so fingers crossed they shouldn't hurt you at all.

Best of luck for your big day and CONGRATS on going naked! :jump: :-)o :jump: :-88 :-V

You should be just fine. I was debanded last week. No pain at all! The worst part was the drill noise and smell when the ortho ground off the glue.

Good luck!
Braced at 41, Damon 2s - top and bottom, 8/10/04, estimated 18-24 months...did overtime! Debraced 10/4/06. Essix retainers.

It was fine, they barely even had to do anything. They just cleaned them with that little brush thing and I was done. Barely took any time at all, because my ortho had pretty much cleaned them up.
