My ortho said I am about an 8 on the scale of 1-10 (10 being worst). My ortho chose to have extractions made (I dont know which teeth) AFTER my braces are in. My question...I am almost positive he is not going to remove the tooth hiding in the back so how is he gonna brace the top one sticking out without pushing the other one further back? I'm just curious what your opinions are on what he plans to do...thanks in advance for all your imput!

There are so many ways an ortho can do it. From looking at other pictures on this site I will be willing to bet that they will put a spring on the teeth on either side of the tooth that is behind to push them out of the way so that they can bracket the wayward one. They will then be able to pull that tooth into line.
Don't worry! The orthos have their ways! Spend some time looking at posts in the Braces Stories. You will be amazed at what can be done.
And yes,alot of folks have their extractions after they are braced.

I would ask your ortho what they plan to do. What my ortho did was pull 1 tooth as I had already had another pulled then created a space to adjust the other teeth in. now we are closing the gaps. Your teeth are more out of line then mine were, but seems like the ortho might do about the same thing. The best thing to do is ask your ortho because he/she should know what they plan to do. Also that way you will know what is in store and not worry about what may or may not actually happen.

I had a canine that looked somewhat like that
My crooked teeth looked somewhat similar to your's. I had a protruding canine (my protruded worse than yours, even), and that canine completely overlapped the lateral (tooth between the canine and the front teeth), and then the lateral was pushed back as a result. I can't even begin to tell you how much I grew to despise that canine, as I felt it ruined my whole face. I even had difficulty opening my mouth around that tooth, making my mouth look lopsided and unsymmetrical. Yuck. 
In my case, my ortho pulled the premolar next to the canine, then brought the canine down into the empty spot. I also had 3 other premolars pulled to make room. I just got my braces off in May, and my case took three years and two months to complete. Got to say, it was the best thing I ever did. I have a new face now, and I love it!

Debanded in May, 2006! Total sentence: Three years and two months. Now in hawleys which make me gag! Before braces, I had dracula fangs in their own rows, and everything else was crooked, crowded, with a cross-bite, too!
Hey my mouth looked similar to yours. (Click the www button for my pics). I got an expander to widen the arch, then a spring to yank apart the two teeth hiding my lateral, and finally there was a rubber band attached to the hidden lateral to pull it forward. This took a few months only. Now my arch is close to perfect.
BTW you have big, white nice teeth - that is all that counts. The teeth's shape is permanent, but their location is just temporary. So don't worry you will look nice in a few months time.
