Thanks! Me, too.

This is still me. I am horribly self consious now because people will see the braces.Dee17 wrote:Hi Debinator,
I'm actually coping pretty well with them. I was a mess just before I got them put on. I was having SO much anxiety, it was just awful. Since then, I've had a pretty easy ride, I think. Very little pain to speak of. Just getting over my feelings of self-consciousness was a bit tough. But I think I'm well past that now. I scarcely even notice them anymore so I think that's real progress!

Don't worry! It will pass (like the rest of everything to do with braces). It took me about a month to be okay with people seeing them. Now I don't care at all. I'm sure it won't be long before you feel the same way, especially once teeth start moving underneath the bracketsSunshineRay wrote:This is still me. Re: Getting Braces At The Age of 54!
well I am going to go to a rehab hospital tomorrow and I will be there for 8 weeks until my ankle heals. because I live alone and there are steps to get up into my house they thought that I should not go home because it won't be anybody there to help take care of me and I won't be able to go and not of the house so I will be there for the next 8 weeks and hopefully my recovery will be pretty quick..

Ah that's annoying, but the ortho can wait if needs be. Just focus on getting your ankle better for now! Glad to know you are feeling better !

Yep yep. Had a few things going on. It's cold. And it's cold. Did I mention it's cold? (I really shouldn't complain, where I currently live has nothing on the minus's where I used to live! But it's cold!!!)Dee17 wrote:Thanks, Tobelei,
