Oh yes, I hear that. Braces is all about patience, you need lots and lots!

There have been ups as well as downs and I'm about 2/3 way done now at this one year anniversary. But, be inspired... its been am amazing journey so far.

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves! Take care.

Thanks for all the Braceversary congratulations, they made me smile.

No 14th adjustment to report yet since July. I have not been to the Ortho's office for two months. Have had an awful time lately, lost my Dad a few weeks ago after an extraordinary courageous battle with Leukaemia. He was always fascinated by my braces saga, so it's moving on with determination on the next visit number 14 in a few days time. I'm hoping for something major to report (possibly an end date forecast?!)

Wow - soooooo sorry to hear about your Dad! But nice to hear your pride in the way he coped with it.

Congrats on your progress with your braces! Any estimates for a de-bracing date?

Hi Mark

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. I've been there myself, so I understand what you're going through :(

When I first joined this forum, your story was the first I came across from a British person. I really enjoyed reading your journey! :) Your teeth are looking great!! Good for you for going ahead with it all! How much longer do you have left?

Visit 14

#144 Post by markybwoy »

Thanks for the kind messages and thoughts.

63 weeks and counting!

Visit 14 was a quick affair, after the long wait. Quick clean-up and got two powerchains fitted. They were a bit sore for one day, soup for dinner, then fine the next day. I was lisping a little bit the next day as I had to re-adjust to talking once again. The powerchains will close up the remaining gaps on upper and lower. In fact they have done already after only one week. Then next visit (just 5 days time from today) I think the powerchains will come off and we can talk about what's left before the end-date!

I am sorry for your loss, Mark. Blood donation is a small price for we healthy people to pay in order to help others.

I'm glad your treatment is progressing well.

my best wishes to you, and to your family.

Thanks for all your kind words.

Well, visit 15 was on Saturday. A little clean up, got the powerchain off, new ligs, then a bombshell... "Ok, Mark, we can take these off next time.."

WooHoo! 6 weeks time, they are coming off. Then models and fitting up for my retainer, which takes about a week apparently, then this journey comes to an end 16 months after it started. I will put up bigger pics when I get to the end of this thread.

:)

Hey Mark!! Are you De-Braced yet!!!???

I have just read through your thread and I have to say im excited for you!

I am due to go for my impressions next friday to get the ceramic braces on top and bottom. I have been a bit of a chicken about it, worrying about what I will look like and how my work collegues will react. But reading your story has made me feel loads better about it and I am now looking forward to getting theball rolling.

Can't wait to see your peggies out of their cage!
