Small space opened up...will retainer fit?

If you have finished with your orthodontic treatment and are wearing retainers (or will be soon), this is a special place to connect with others in your (enviable) situation. Ask a question or make a comment about life post-braces.

Small space opened up...will retainer fit?

#1 Post by NKovaci88 »

I had impressions taken for my retainer, but despite my braces still being on...I noticed a small space opened up where I had an extraction. I think my should have powerchained it, but he didn't. It's a very small space, probably half of a millimeter...but I'm afraid the retainer won't fit when I get it. Is this possible?

ETA: I will be getting Hawley retainers, if that makes a difference.

I would bring this up to your ortho so he or she is aware, if your retainer was done before (impressions) the small gape appeared then it should fix the gap. But definetly bring it up to your ortho so they know
