Question for the knowledge trust

If you have finished with your orthodontic treatment and are wearing retainers (or will be soon), this is a special place to connect with others in your (enviable) situation. Ask a question or make a comment about life post-braces.

Question for the knowledge trust

#1 Post by dodi »

My braces came off 2 years ago after 2.5 years - I wore my retainers for a year. Hawleys, top and bottom. Then nights only ever since.

They finally collapsed and I stopped wearing them. Not bad going!

I think I have had some movement, very minor, and also notice my molars on the left dont touch! The right touches and not the left. Also I think my front teeth are too far forward of my lowers - just a feeling

Now I moved from NY to FL...

Do you think I have to go to a new ortho or should I fly up and see the old guy?

Your thoughts?

I'm about 20 miles west of Jacksonville

I had some implants done since my braces so the original molds don't apply.

I called my ortho and I am going up to NJ for a check up. He thinks that any movement I may have occurred will be sorted out by retainers. He thinks it's not as bad as I do!

However I'm working in Asia and will only get to him in September!

Now I could go to one of those quaint ortho shops in Thailand and have them sort me out... I have seriously thought about it! Then decided against it!
