Preparations-Gettting invisalign soon- what products to buy?
I am getting invisalign in September and I want to get a list going of what to buy. Specifically what to clean the trays with (efferdents). Do you clean your trays everytime you take them out of just once a day? Will I need wax? Any other tips you could recommend? Thanks.
I clean my trays once a day in the morning with Retainer Brite which you can buy online. Buy extra toothbrushes, preferably travel size & small sample or travel sizes of toothpaste. Keep them in your car, purse or briefcase, locker at work...any where you may be throughout your day. I have had to use wax only twice in 16 months & your dentist can supply you with that. Bottled water is helpful to swish & spit or swallow if you're in a situation where you can't brush.
do not believe all u read about things u need to clean invisalign here is what i do and they are clean and do not smell also if u stick to just drinking water with them in like u are supposed to that will help no staining ect. You only have to brush them with a normal toothbrush in the morning because that is when the a most dirty because been in mouth 8 hours brush under tap on outside then inside after that everytime they come out just rinse them under the tap to remove the slimy feeling i think if u brush them too much they will become less clear. I agree what JML says that u will need 2 sets of tooth brushes and toothpaste.
My ortho recommended cleaning with efferdent. I do that in the morning during breakfast and at night during dinner. They are always clean and feel good after that treatment. And the green efferdent does not stain.
My ortho said that toothpaste could dull the finish making the trays look less clear. So I do not use toothpaste too much if I brush them. But on the few times I have used toothpaste, I could not notice any change in the finish of the trays.
