Hi laineyloo! Thanks for stopping in :D .

Hang in there. Before you know it, you'll have movement too  ! I noticed you only have your top braced too. When do you get your bottoms on? or are you only going with tops? Yes, it was definitely weird being in the waiting room with all those teens  but it was worth it. I'm just counting down the days until I get my lowers braced!! :jump:
Keep smilin'! :)

Yeah we're in the same boat at the moment. I get the bottoms on on May 8th which is my first adjustment. I really like having the time to get used to the top guys first. Breaking us in gently

I was doing loads of research before I got them and I really liked the look of the damon 3 with the half clear bracket. They look great on your teeth by the way! But I ended up with just the standard metal ones in the end. Ah sure as long as they do the job I don't mind :)

How are you finding yours now? I don't mind them at all, they are pretty comfortable. It'll be weird with the full mouth of metal but I'm really looking forward to it too :D

Hi laineyloo: I barely even notice them now really except when my teeth start to ache a bit. My two front teeth have been driving me crazy the last few days but nothing I can't really handle.

Well, 12 days to go until I'm a "full metal mouth"! :-#) Ok, with a touch of clear on my brackets but who's keeping track, right? I was reading another thread in the metal mouth forum about a "clencher" at night who has turbos. I'm getting turbos and I clench my teeth at night too...Does anyone know what they do in these cases? Does a nightguard help? Any feedback appreciated:)
Keep smilin'! :)

Hi Jenny! Thanks for stopping by my story. Looks like you are well on your way. I see a ton of progress in your photos! Cant wait to see the full 'braceface' photos. :D

Oh and I liked the angle that you took that photo at a couple posts ago. I should do that too. That's a good angle to get any overjet progress. Thanks for the idea. :)

I look forward to following your story and seeing your wonderful progress! :D

Jenny:
Stopped by and took a look. If you're a clincher or grinder, ask your ortho about a bite plate. It might be better than turbos. The turbos will help open your bite. A bite plate will also do that but will serve as a guard against the clinching. I'ne noticed as my teeth move, I clinch more than I did before. Of course, my bite is totally off as things get moved for surgery.

While you're relatively early in the process, I can see progress already. In about six months you're going to be really happy with your progress.

I wore braces (this time) for 1294 days or 3 years, 6 months and 17 days.
But who's counting?

i see some progress in your teeth. I took some 1 month photos of mine and i see only a few small changes.

I found eating pizza makes my front teeth sore but has helped them start to move faster. Because i have been bitiing pieces off instead of cutting them off. Just thought id share the tip.

Kara: You're very welcome! I love following other ppls progress :D . I'm glad you see progress and trust me, as soon as I get those puppies on, I'll have pics! The only downfall is I go at 7:30 a.m. so I'm thinking I'll have a nap in the chair! lol :-Z I actually "stole" the idea of that angle of pic from Faerydust but, yes, it's really a good idea if you have an overbite  !

iBorg: Thanks so much for stopping by and for the info! I never knew(realised) I clenched at night but when I went for my consult, my ortho asked me if I grind/clench. I told him I didn't think so and when he asked me if my jaw aches in the morning, I realised I must. Now I'm scared I'll "clench" the turbos right off!

JML0090: Thanks :D . Yes, I've been trying to eat with my front teeth too, like biting into sandwiches, but I really haven't been successful. They hurt plus the sensation of food pushing up on my brackets is weird! I see my nephew, who's been braced for 6 months, just bite into a big ol' burger and I cringe and drool all at the same time!! :soremouth:  Oh, I can just imagine how I'll cope when I get my lowers on! haha BTW, did you start a journal yet?

Well, off to put kiddies to bed...g'night!! :-Z
Keep smilin'! :)

In the pics you posted the movement I can see is that the archwire has straightened out a bit. It had a little bit of a bend and now it has none :D

Biting into things with front teeth is hard! I tend to bite on the straight side of my mouth and use my canine to kind of rip into food. Must look pretty stupid biting from side on! Hehe.

Kittymeow: Thanks for visiting! :D Hmmm.....now that you say, I can see it IS a bit straighter. Haha, I do the same thing, just use my teeth on the side. I've tried to just forget about it and bite with the front but it just doesn't work :? .

Well, I know it's only been not quite 2 weeks since I've posted pics but I could really tell something was moving the last few days so I decided to take a comparison pic from the first day braced. Tell me if you can see anything??

Day I got braced:

Today:

So, I bought a waterpik the other day....LOVE IT!!! Oh, it's the best invention ever! I got it for $47 at Walmart.

Only 7 days to go until my lowers get braced!!YAY!! :jump: Wonder if I'll be jumping for joy once they're braced?!?!

Edit: I have a pokey wire on the left side now(just noticed it in the last few day b/c teeth are moving?). Should I wait 'til I go in a week for my next appt. and keep waxing? or go get it snipped now? Seems silly since I'll be there in 7 sleeps  .

Hi jenny101101 ~

I've been MIA - just catching up on your blog. Lots has happened / been posted since!

I would definitely ask your ortho about getting a bite plate instead of turbos. Both will end up with your molars not touching and both will open your bite. I would think they are interchangeable - but I'm NOT a professional.

The only thing I wonder about is whether you can have top braces and a bite plate. :? The reason I mention this is because my ortho decided not to brace my uppers and get a bite plate.

At least with a bite plate, you can take it out. Of course that could slow your treatment but even to take it out to brush your teeth and rinse your mouth feels wonderful!!

hey Jenny! As far as your pokey wire, make sure that it just hasn't slid over on ya. See if it is still even on the other side. I realized my top wire had a tendency to slip every once in a while. So hopefully you can get some relief from that little wire. Take care and congrats on all of the progress.
