Retainers

How long does it take to get used to the retainers? I have mine for two weeks now but they are tight and give me headaches. Anyone else have this problem?

What type of retainers do you have? Acrylic and metal, or clear plastic?
I'm the owner/admin of this site. Had ceramic uppers, metal lowers ~3 years in my early 40's. Now in Hawley retainers at night!

The clear plastic (Essix) retainers can't really be adjusted like an acrylic and metal (Hawley) retainer. I suggest that you speak to your orthodontist or dentist about this problem. Perhaps your retainers can be re-made to be less tight.
