that sounds terrible. did you relapse or did the surgeon fix the jaws improperly?

I had the smallest overbite honestly I never even noticed it. they moved my chin back which was disastrous so I look more like a before than an after aesthetically. I totally relate on the pushing down and sewn together sensation. It might be nerve damage but I also want to get the plate I'm my chin removed in case. Have you tried botox as well? I have an appointment next week. My bite also feels weird. Its very close to edge to edge, I'd prefer more of an overbite....this pisses me off because my orthodontist could have easily corrected my bite to a satisfactory position with elastics and braces, but I guess his pockets felt empty and he couldn't pass up a surgery case to get the referral check SMH.

I understand that people may not use this thread as often/got locked out of their account. But, I'm very very curious if anyone has been able to partially or fully resolve this issue -- pulling and tightness/stiffness in the lower lip and chin region. I don't mean normal post-op stiffness, I mean very very tight and uncomfortable pulling to the point where talking or holding a conversation is very bothersome. This is really getting me down. Its been sooooo long (almost 3 years) and I'm not any more used to it than had it first started :( this will hold me back so much in life....

please please please, if you got locked out, or are uninterested in creating an account etc, but have some idea or experiences to share, please consider emailing me at sara.marie8559@gmail.com. unfortunately I got this stupid surgery the week after I graduated and it has severely impaired my earning potential....but I am willing to offer a sum of cash to anyone who was able to fix their problem and can give me a recommendation that will lead to it fixing mine!

Is the tightness related to your mentalis muscle?

Wondering if you’ve consulted anyone regarding mentalis resuspension? I’ve had all hardware removed and nerve repair surgery that made no difference in chin cramping/pulling.

I had the same procedure done as well along with double jaw surgery for sleep apnea. I am at 11 months and the chin tightness continues to get better. At 6 months it was still extremely tight. Still a lot of numbness though and very sensitive to cold. Not looking forward to dropping temperatures.

Aesthetically I don't like my lower lip is not as full. I'm not sure if the sliding g procedure did that or is it a result of the jaw coming forward. Anyone notice a change to their lower lip?

Hi, I am going through a similiar thing at the moment, been 18 months since my surgery and for the past 6 months I have felt the tightness in my chin (no pain).

Does anyone know if hardware removal has worked? I noticed CloudyAngel had the hardware removed, would love to know how it is now! :)
