Whoa!

I came across this tonight while searching the web for something else. I had wondered about Smile Direct Club, but I didn't expect to see so many bad reviews! Now I understand why the AAO came out with a statement against mail-order companies like this!

I would admonish anyone against seeking treatment with SDC(Smile Direct Club). Tooth movement is complex biomechanics and it makes very good sense to be with an orthodontist rather than some quack. Some of the damages caused by Smile Dental Clinic are irreversible damages. Many dentists would also admonish against rendering services from Smile Direct Club.

It's interesting that the only positive responses seem to be from people who just started or are commenting on how "nice" the people are. I suspect the company is encouraging the newbies to review them before they've had a chance to learn they've likely been bilked. Unfortunately it seems they are doing significant volume since their lab appears unable to keep up.
