Genioplasty revision?

#1 Post by Sarah96 »

Hello all I want to know if any of you experienced a revision genioplasty?
I searched the forum and saw a few posts but they were years ago and I can't contact with those people right now.
My questions are:
Why did you have a revision? Or if you didn't yet, why do you consider a revision?
How is the recovery?
Do you feel better now?
How long did you wait to have a revision?
Any side effects? Muscle or chin ptosis problems post op?

My problem is that my chin is just soooo stiff and it hurts a lot also I have almost no control over my lower lip I have to pucker up my chin to close my mouth. Also my chin is definitely longer than it was before which I am not happy with because I only expected a forward movement but it's also elongated now that I feel like the source of all the problems I have now.

Please if you had a revision or if you consider one, tell me about yourself I need it sooo much!

I’m three weeks post op and thinking about having a revision genio. I know its too early to do anything but I hated my chin b4 and I hate it now. I also think it being a bit far forward causes my smile to be flat rather than bow shaped. Looks great in profile, bad in the front.

Would also like to know if anyone’s done a revision genio post bimax with genio. My chin was set back but I think not far enough to let my teeth show strongly.

Hi there- your face is going to change even more in the next year. It takes that long to get rid of all the swelling. You still have quite a bit on the left side of your face. I hated my face at 3 months. I look at it now and then look at it before and think, well it's not so bad. Not what I personally envisioned but it would take a lot for me to go back through that again.

You are so right. I realized I was being insane flipping oit over what i looked like three weeks post surgery. I’m not even close to healed up yet.

Going to give daily photos a rest for a while and just focus on healing!
