Cost of replacing power chains?

#1 Post by lightmyfire »

I have ceramic braces with power chain on it that got stained bright yellow.

Unfortunately, I got my braces done where it's really far away from where I am right now and I'm on a trip to Canada for 6 months.

Any ideas of the approximate cost of replacing power chains in North America region? and also does it cost more if you get the obscure or pearl colored one as it's known as stain resisting?

I really don't think you should worry about this. Most of us are way more conscious about our braces, wires, bands and so on then those around us.

I posted this in response to someone who had stained their powerchains and perhaps it will help you too: rinse with a 50% solution of hydrogen peroxide. Best of luck to you!

Soooo, you're not going to see your orthodontist for 6 months? Did I read that right?

And you're worried about your powerchain staining?
Round 3 (lifetime) Damon stainless applied 3/16/20 (after 4 weeks attempting invisalign) On for about 18 months
Night time elastics with invisalign retainers; still...
Double jaw surgery was 6/18/15...
Orthodontics never really ends...
I'm emphatically against extraction orthodontics!
