Am I a candidate for lefort 1 with bsso advancement

#1 Post by Jimbo228 »

I got two upper premolar extractions at 13. Profile only got worse as I got older. Nose is too prominent from profile view and lower jaw feels too far back. I know this will only be covered by insurance if I had sleep apnea. I think I may although not severe. Do you guys think I'll be a candidate for double advancement with a normal occlusion?

I'm so sorry this has happened to you. Unfortunately, pulling out teeth will result in the kind of profile you've described.

I would not recommend surgery, but rather, find a dentist who does reversal orthodontic work. A neuromuscular dentist or a TMJ specialist might be your best bet. They will attempt to bring the front teeth forward in the face, not only improving facial features, but also opening up the space for implants.
