Getting braces for the 2nd time because of protrusion

Hi I had my braces back when I was 19-21. This was 9-11 years ago and planning to get my braces tomorrow.

just had an x-ray earlier, here are the images:

I can't close my mouth naturally and thought that my teeth could be the culprit? would getting extractions reduce the protrusion of my lips?

Hi! Thank you for sharing your X-rays.
You have a bimaxillar protrusion and you will probably receive a treatment with extraction of 4 bicuspids.
That's the best solution in my opinion.
I had a bimaxillar protrusion too and I had this type of treatment.
I am braceless now and I am very happy!
Don't hesitate asking me questions!

I've made a gif on the possible before and after of my protrusion, I measured the 2x 1st bicuspid top to be removed and the 2x 2nd lower bicuspid. Hopefully this will be the result! and I can finally close my mouth properly

Very well-made gif! Hopefully you will achieve this result!
I had extracted 4 bicuspids, but all were the first.
I dunno how long will be your treatment. Mine lasted 32 months.
As you see I had lip incompetence and now I close my mouth properly.
Your profile will change a lot but you will have a smaller mouth after the treatment too.

Me too, I'm so happy having a smaller mouth, no more lip incompetence and a stronger chin .
My face has become much balanced than before and my self confidence improved a lot.

finally scheduled my braces for monday!

question, is the extraction of bicuspids after getting braces? I thought they were going to be extracted before installing the braces.

I'm back from the dentist and I just had my braces installed, it's been 10 years since I had my previous one and this is really bothersome to close my teeth! With the braces I now need the extra push just to keep my mouth closed!

my dentist says she will see if there's movement without extraction within 2 months. If there isn't my teeth gets extracted 2 months from now.
