I only show 6 and I was wondering, is that too little?

I show 6 too! I think 6 is fine.

6 here too but that may change once I get the bottom 2 teeth fixed.

I show eight now. Before starting treatment I only showed 6. I never show my bottom teeth much because they're pretty crooked, but when I get my braces off I will. :)

I show 8 uppers and commonly show my lower teeth too...even before braces.

I show 8 of my upper teeth now and I'm pretty sure I showed 6 before treatment. None of my lower teeth shows.
Braces removed for 3rd and final time July 14, 2016!!!!

Permanent 8 crowns front 8 teeth (upper) January 30, 2015

Braces removed again December 3, 2014!!

Partial braces re-installation September 25, 2014

Before braces, 6/8 top and bottom.

After braces, 8/10 top (depending on how big the smile is) and 8 bottom.

My upper arch was developed and I went from a V to a nice U shape and a wider arch. :HugeGrin:

My smile is now much more symmetrical too. It has canted left for lots of years.

Braces as Phase II treatment for TMJD.
Lower mandibular repositioning splint 26 months.
Lower braces on 10.75 months into Phase II treatment.
Duration in braces: 2 years, 2 weeks, 5 days
Removal of Braces: September 18, 2013
TMJD treatment now complete!

That is great that most of you show 8 teeth now. But I think (and hope) 6 is fine too....

If your bite is in place and your teeth are in position, I really don't think the number matters. Everyone is different.

For me, it wasn't the number of teeth I showed. It was all about my bite being in position. The other stuff was all a bonus.

Thanks, TMJJill. I think you are right.
A wider smile is considered more beautiful in general, but I think we cannot all have wide smiles. And sometimes I think a narrow smile suits a particular person better, I don't dislike it (in other people at least and I am trying now to appreciate my own smile more as well!).

Thanks for making me think about this LOL. 6 uppers and 7 lowers (I had a lower incisor extracted so I have an uneven number in the front). That is a huge improvement over when I started this journey 17 months ago!
