Anyone ground down teeth from anterior open bite?

#1 Post by balor124 »

Looking at getting jaw surgery done. I have an anterior open bite and as a result have ground down my rear teeth quite a bit. Is this typical? I hear they'll need to be crowned now, though I'm hoping they can be rebuilt instead so I can keep most of my existing teeth.

I have the same issues, my molars are pretty worn down since they're the only teeth that have ever touched. I haven't been told anything needs to be done with them, though.

Depending upon their state, onlays (or even direct composite resin as an interim solution) rather than full crowns may be possible.
