It won't be as simple as extracting, say, a bicuspid, but it's not unusual in any way... you may have to be knocked out for the work, but that happens all the time with wisdom tooth extractions.

Two of mine were growing completely sideways, so yours looks like a piece of cake in comparison.

Has your dentist referred you to an oral surgeon? That's the person best able to judge how difficult the extraction is. While a general dentist is legally allowed to perform the work, an impacted wisdom tooth should usually be farmed out to a specialist.

The oral surgeon will probably ask if you want to be knocked out, my vote would be yes. Your panarex looks like mine did. It was growing into the bone, and was infected. He knocked me out and I felt nothing. Just a little swelling.

I'm not a dentist or an oral surgeon but judging by the X-ray the removal shouldn't be complicated.

I had all 4 done and pain was really minimal.

I had all 4 of my impacted wisdom teeth taken out at the same time.
I took ibuprofen (and that's it, they did prescribe some painkillers but it was completely unnecessary) for 3 to 4 days.
I had swelling and some light bruising, but other than that, I had no issues.
