Isn't it supposed to be winter down there right now?

Hi Dee,

Sorry to hear you have not been well recently. How are you feeling now? What did the surgeon say?

Hi Kellyb,
He was very pleased with the way the ankle is healing. I go back to see him on August 7 at which time they'll take off this cast, X-ray and then probably put on something he called an air cast. Things are going well.

Hey, lady. Happy to hear things are going well with you. Would you post some new pics so I can see the progress?Or is that not an option where you are?

Okay, so I'm heading up to my one year anniversary in braces. It's been a bit of a challenge but I'm glad I decided to go ahead with treatment. My orthodontist is very pleased with my progress and so am I. Aside from having a crooked right top incisor and a relatively small space, it's looking pretty good if I do say so myself. When I go back in mid-October, he is going to remove the brackets on the top incisors and replace them with something but I can't remember what he said. I will probably also be getting elastics to fix my wonky bite. Before I got braces, he said that my bite was near "perfect" that it was "as nature intended it to be". Now it's not like that so much. One of my teeth on the left side in the back feels like it's much higher than the other teeth near it. So, when I bite down, it's always feeling like I'm just biting on that one particular tooth, if that makes any sense. Anyway, I'm posting a photo of how things look right now for anyone who is interested. I'm Soooooo glad I decided to go ahead with this treatment despite all my initial anxiety. Anxiety is long gone and new smile is a-coming. So, all is good in this corner of the world.

Hello Dee, So glad to hear things are looking up again. They say the bite gets worse before it gets better and it sounds like it certainly has in your case. Me too, I'm afraid. We'll just have to keep on looking forward to the braces-free, beautiful smile future.

Hi Redwine,
Oh, you've got that right. I have yet to receive a deband date so I am not in count-down mode but I will announce it as soon as I get it! Hope you're doing well!

At this point, I'm only in countdown mode (sort of) for a BSSO. With luck, it should happen in December. After a couple of months or so, I hope to begin the real countdown: De-bracing day (or at least month)! My original sentence was 24-30 months, and Ortho says 24 months isn't being too optimistic. So, here's hoping!

Dee-

I know you are getting antsy. Looking at your picture, you've come a long way. Your gap has reduced and it looks like your arch has developed. I can't tell about your bite. I'd hazard a guess that it has improved as well.

Sometimes when we are experiencing the change day to day, it is hard to see the larger progress. So much of our treatment involves what is above the gums to and we don't see that at all.

Keep your faith up.
