CC oh CC my dear friend,

I am glad to know everything is going well. I hope you will bbe able to avoid getting those teeth pulled. I think you should go with a light blue or royal blue for your adjustment next week!!! I can not wait to see what color you end up choosing. At the rate I am having my appoitment I will end up going through all the colors. LOL. I have another appointment on Sept. 25th and I am sitting here now deciding what color to get!! I really liked the lime green I had on bottom the last time and was thinking about maybe getting that color on both my top and bottom arches, but I also want to try a blue. Oh the decisions we have to make when it comes to adjustment time. LOL!!! Well, I can not wait to see what color you will choose!!! Take care and I am so glad you finally got over that HORRIBLE COLD YOU HAD!!!

First Adjustment :ouch:

Hello my dear friends!! I had my first adjustment today and here is my progress report:

The Good

My appointment went really fast and they were happy with my progress! I chose teal ligs and I love them :) :) (See pics below)

The Bad :braces_angry:

The pressure on my teeth when they changed the ligs was PAINFUL!!! But then it calmed down straight away....but now that it's 7 hours later I feel like I've been punched in the jaw! I was going so well (so I thought) and then the ache set in and has been progressively getting worse every hour....>!!!!!!!

The Ugly :yikes:

In 5 weeks or so I'm having 4 extractions... My dentist wants to do two at a time and so they will be done a week apart. They will be taking out my upper 4's and lower 5's instead of the original plan of upper and lower 5's. AAAAAHHHH!! And the wires go back in as soon as I get the second two out (whilst I'm still numb)!!!! My other choice was to have all four out under sedation...but I don't want to pay 500 extra for sedation just so that I can have FOUR painful extractions with wires put back all in the one day! And just when I was getting comfortable with the idea of the impending pain... the assistant said I will probably be getting elastics next time too!!!

Anyway check out my new ligs in the photo below :)

CC!! I just love your choice of lig colors. They are so beautiful! I go back in about two weeks so I am thinking of what color I should do. I really hope everything goes well with your extractions! I can see great progress in your teeth. I forgot to tell you about the pressure involved when they remove the ligs. To me that is worse than putting them on! I hope everything else is going great for you!

Thanks Kimmie, you're too kind!! :) I realised that the blue that I was intending on getting didn't exist... so I thought that teal was the closest to it and as soon as I saw them on I was super happy! I think it makes brushing my teeth that little bit more fun with a brighter colour! And the lilac or lavender was fading away to a boring pale pink!!

For you... is it time to try hot pink? Or perhaps purple?? Or even something in the blue range?

Yes my teeth have really started to show some difference! They've changed the wire to a flat/square one so we'll see how it goes over the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for the support on the extractions! I've booked them in for 5 weeks away so I'm going to try and stick my head in the sand and pretend they're not happening for a couple of weeks! :GapToothed:

Yes, I've decided that lig changes are not my favourite part! And I was especially annoyed because the ortho assistant was trying to tell me important information about my extractions as she was changing them and I was in too much pain to think properly!!??? And how am I supposed to answer you/ask questions when you've got your hands in my mouth??

The aching is starting to ease off today - hooray!! Last night they kept me awake but I think tonight I should be able to get some sleep

Hope you're doing well Kimmie!!

@ Gilly- Thanks heaps!! What colour are yours up the top? I really love the teal and am having fun with it!! Not sure if I'll get it again though because it makes my eyes look very dull (a bit of a clash because I have bluish eyes maybe?). So what is your next colour selection??????

@ KIMMIE!- I think a mediumish purple or blue would be nice! I don't seem to have that choice at my ortho - but you might?? Hope your next appointment goes well!!!

Off to brush my teeth and go to bed! Nighty night all!!! :-} :-Z :-Z

Week 10 Update Photos

Image

:-)o :jump: :singing: :biglaf:   :-* :-88

Check out my two front teeth!! They have not been this straight since I was about 5 years old!!! It's time for a celebration! I'm so excited!!!!!! They are only mms off being perfectly aligned! If you had've asked me before getting braces, I wouldn't have thought it possible!!

Only 4 weeks until my extractions  Apart from that everything seems to be fairly good. Eating normally and not a huge deal of pain.

Keep well everyone! And have a beautiful week! :flowerbloom:

Love the teal ligs.

It's not pleasant having the ligs taken off but it was uncomfortable as a stronger powerchain was put on my front 4 teeth. They are still tender and feel tight 8 hours later. 3rd powerchain so doesn't bother me as much as it did.

Thanks Jem :) Yes I am over the moon with my progress so far! Still a long way to go but already my confidence is growing! :)

Thanks Angel :), I hope those power chains are settling down! I don't have the joy of any yet but I'm sure it's just a matter of time!!...

Hello Friends!

In two days, I will have had my braces on for 12 weeks! My front teeth are pretty much in line (just a fraction of a mm to go) and my bottoms are making some progress too.

The strangest thing for me at the moment is that I can't touch my teeth together at the front anymore!! It feels very weird! And it also feels like my lowers have to catch a taxi to meet up with my uppers now - an overbite I guess!??!!

Anyway, next step is extractions in two weeks....!!!

Have a great week everyone!
