I ate almost everything with my braces. I cut the corn on the cob off with a knife. I had Russell Stover candies - caramel, nuts, etc. right after I had my braces off.

I have been listing the things I'm going to eat when I'm debraced ever since they went on. A friend of mine has suggested I have a debracing party and serve only the foods I've been listing after and I think it's a great idea! List so far:

popcorn
bacon sandwich
steak baguette
rice krispie cakes
mars bars
toffees
cookies
cheese straws

I'm sure there's more but that's all I can think of right now!

I am going to indulge in curry and red wine and not feel the need to race upstairs to deal with staining! :D

Then I am going to finish with a cadburys double decker!

Curious though.....I think the reason I can't bite is pyscological - there is no reason I can't although my front teeth have been tender since I started. I just worry I am in the habit of not using my front teeth and wont be able to eat normally even when de=braced! Anyone else feel like that? I pick even at things like bread now and dont bite it!

I seem to be alternating which teeth I don't bite on. First I had no teeth to use because I had a bite plate, then it was only the front because I had a wisdom tooth removed, then it was only the back because my front hurt so much, then it was only the left hand side as I had a right tooth removed, and right now it feels like none of them work!

This made me actually laugh out loud. I love it! particularly considering your screen name.
I've done the steak thing in tiny pieces, but I get what you mean about really being able to enjoy it fully with no reservations on tearing into it.
