Starting to notice everyone's teeth!

#1 Post by bracketeer »

...and a lot of people need braces! HaHa

I'm so glad I'm getting mine fixed...and very thankful it is only alignment and spacing issues that I need to have corrected. I can't wait to have the smile of my dreams

Same here - Since the few months before I got my braces, I've been obsessed with teeth in general, and I notice everyone's now.

My 2yo daughter had a pediatrician appt this morning, and in the office they have a big picture of a smiling girl maybe 7-9yo. I have seen this picture 20 times already, but this time I have noticed that the girl has a unilateral posterior crossbite that better be fixed ASAP! :-*
I mean, this is too much already. :gavel:

I'm starting to notice everyone's teeth & I don't even have braces yet. I was staring at a coworker's teeth today b/c I just noticed she has braces. It was so embarrassing. It was a great conversation started about the joys & pains of braces.

Oh, yeah, sounds familiar. Let's say I read everything I could about this and drove my ortho crazy. Now I also notice ANYTHING teeth related, stuff others won't even see. Come one, it's there in plain view :D

Me too, and I've also been noticing actors' teeth. It's surprising how many of them have not-so-great teeth. If I were rich and my job was to have my mug on camera, straight teeth would be a top priority. I wonder if they don't get braces because of how they'd look and it would interfere with getting other acting jobs. But still, they could get Invisalign braces. I find myself pondering this and then realize I'm not paying attention to the show I'm watching!
Class II moderately deep overbite, mild crowding.
Braced on January 19, 2011. Debraced on December 16, 2013.

Marigold, for some actors it is their trade mark look that got them the jobs that they have. Do you think that you would believe that Steve Buscemi for example were a down and out kind of guy if he had nice straight white teeth? But yes, I have noticed actors just as much as people that I work with or meet while out and about. I went to a class reunion a few weeks ago and was all nervous about having braces at this age and was quickly relaxed as I had people congratulating me on getting them and other asking about the process. I think that a couple of people were actually thinking about doing it themselves, but were afraid too. Hopefully they now will have to courage to do it after seeing me!

Of course not. I was really thinking of "glamorous" type actors whose popularity is as much about their looks as their talent. Also entertainers. One very young and popular female singer/actor comes to mind whose teeth I find so distracting it's all I can think about when I look at her. I just wonder "why?" I'm sure they all have their reasons, it's just my humble observation. :)

Hey--

Little Turtle---I have exactly the same reaction--either people congratulating me--or confessing that they want braces too!

I find myself trying NOT to look at other people's teeth. I don't want to embarass them..weird, huh. I kind of thought it would be the other way around!

Funny!

Went to see The Lincoln Lawyer a few months ago and my husband became highly annoyed with me during the movie because I couldn't help whispering in his ear that Matthew McConaughey needs braces on his lower teeth.

By the way, what is the story with Tom Cruse's teeth? I thought he was in braces... Why is his midline so much off? :?:

I just watched that movie this past Saturday and noticed the same thing! I was fixated on his mouth the entire movie. Too funny!
