Anyone know what this could be?

Anyone know what this could be?

Ok, so I dont have access to a camera just now to take a pic so il jus try and describe this as best I can! :lol:

I went for my 4th adjustment today and everythin seems to be going well, so my ortho tells me hes winding a band round my 4 top front teeth to start closing the spaces there. So am like cool thats good thats what I want! he puts this band underneath my wire and iv got damons so i dont get any ligs or anthing.
So I leave the orthos and get into my car and have a wee look in the mirror n im like ahhh! hes put somethin round the wire on top of the band right in between my two front teeth n it really really looks like a have chewing gum or somethins stuck on my wire! :lol:

Just wondered if anyone knew what this was and what the heck its purpose is! :?: thanks! x

Probably a powerchain to close the spaces.

If it looks like a plastic chain that has loops (kind of like a diamond shape, going west to east) that hugs the brackets, it is a powerchain.

If it looks like fishing line intertwined between to teeth, it is a powertie.

Both are used to close gaps.
I have had a powerchain on my bottom arch for almost the last year. I had a powertie on my top front four teeth for about 2 months.

Ahh yes it sounds like it must b a power tie! thanks snowglobe av never heard of this before! time to get readin up! :lol:
