and i asked how would it help improve my profile, since i got an email from an oral surgeon who said it would improve my profile and face. so i wanted to know since some people here who may have done this already. i wanted to know thier expierences....

Your questions are too vague. The benefits or consequences of surgery are more specific to the individual. If another person has a great cosmetic outcome(or a negative outcome) it doesn't mean that you will have the same. I suggested that you post a profile view. That's the best way to get advice that is specific to your case......
The primary purpose of the surgery is to improve your bite, but shifting your jaw will affect your profile as well. If the surgeon has looked at you and your information and has determined that he/she thinks it will improve your profile, then my guess is that it would.
If you are trying to determine whether you would like the results or not, that's a personal thing. From perusing this board for almost a year, most people are happy with the results, but some have a hard time adjusting to the new face.
